Birthyear inheritance

Just wanted to share this one with you guys. My youngest son was due in january, but obviously refused to let the hulk go. He needed it as his birthyear for when i give it to him in 20+ years.
Next project will be an Explorer Polar 2015 for my eldest son.

What do you guys have in store for your inheritors?

congrats

For my kids its:
Son 1 Rolex GMT II LN
Son 2 AP Royal Oak 15400
Son 3 (on the way) Patek 5164A

Watches reflect where i was at with my watch collection at the time, so dont read into the disparity.

I wear them all and will give each their watch when they are grown.

When my daughter was born I bought a Cartier 36mm Ballon Bleu and had her initials, date of birth & time of birth engraved on the back. My wife wears it for now. We’ll give it to her sometime in her 20s.

It's funny because in my family, men get a lifetime watch for their 21st birthday. When I turned 21, I was given the option of a Rolex datejust or another watch of my choice. I went with a quartz Tag chronograph. I love that watch but considering I"m looking for my first Rolex I wonder what if I'd made a different choice.

Fast forward to today and I'm looking to get my first Rolex. I'll be getting a Submariner and I'm wanting a used one from 2014 which is my son's birth year. Then, we he turns 21 I'll give it to him. That is, unless, he wants something different :).

I’m looking for a watch for the oldest of my two girls as we speak....so whatever that is and my BLNR will go the them. Also, my BBN will go to my oldest and something else (yet to be acquired) my youngest. The wife’s red grape OP will go to the oldest and a blue dial DJ most likely to the youngest. Also, when they marry I hope to give them watches of their choosing as their last “big gift” from daddy before their spouses take over....rofl....

Sounds like a great tradition - I’m just hoping that my own kids grow up learning to appreciate a quality watch like myself

Not a birth-year watch (great tradition BTW) for my younger boy....but he seems to be trying to lay claim to it!

My niece and nephew (3 and 1) try to make off with anything I have that's shiny. I expect that I'll have to fork over the Day-Date to one of them if either ever goes to medical school!

I never tire of these threads. The generosity to give such a gift for milestones reached and for remembrance is a great sentiment.

I am currently hunting something classic that I can give to my son (wife is due in 4-5 weeks) when the time is right!

At this point my daughter is more psyched to receive the DY bracelet w/her birthstone I got after her birth. She'll receive my DJ upon her College graduation or golden birthday. It will be a huge step up from her beloved daily wearer...a Timex Ironman.

I love these threads as well.

When I graduated High School, I received a DJ36. My plan is to give that to my son (whenever I have kids... hopefully, I guess I need a significant other first). For graduating college I'm purchasing a BLNR, I haven't thought about how that fits into the plans yet.

Maybe DJ36 to daughter and BLNR to son? It's up in the air.

My oldest daughter will more than likely end up with my BLNR. Daughter on the way will probably end up with my wife’s DJ. I’ll probably have to pick up another GMT of some sort between now and when I give up the BLNR as it’s a complication that I use all the time.

I have one son who’s totally into watches and fine taste luxury!
And two girls who aren’t at all into watches. So most likely my watches will all go my son
