East Tennessee - go Vols!
Hello, Dave here. I bought my silver 79 Air King 5500 in early Dec, along with a 91 ladies datejust two tone. Dual Christmas presents. My first luxury watch, as I have been a Seiko guy forever. My daily watch is a Kinetic Titanium that gets me through metal detectors at work that my AK cannot do. I have bought the wife a couple of Tag Heuers that she enjoys, but now she can have a dressy one for whatever occasion she chooses.
I am an old soul and I just feel comfortable with old stuff. Perhaps I like to imagine the feeling of what it was like 70 years ago before the world got stupid. The 5500 AK is right up my alley. It would be a daily wear if i didnt have to remove it 4 times a day and not worry about some yahoo dropping it. Love to have one in slate gray, salmon and blue...but not enough money for that! AKs are far and away my favorite model. No hate to the other models, but the bigger dive watches just aren't for me. I can appreciate them, but other than perhaps an OP, that's about it. I would be lying if I didn't admit that cost is also a factor! This forum is great. Lots of experience and advice. Thanks for letting me in the club. Dave. Out. |
