Which Breitling model holds its value best?

I am considering purchasing my first Breitling (possibly a vintage one) and was wondering which model holds its value best?

Thanks!

None that I can think of.
Why not look for the model you'll want to keep long term, then residual value becomes an irrelevance?

Ha6x! That's Easy Sir. I grew up in Butterworth, the Northernmost Military Base and Command Centre of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) a time when the Commonwealth nations like Great Britain and Australia guarded the Malaysian Air Space and protected the country against the communists. There were lots of pilot watches worn by the Australian personnels back in the 60s and 70s but surprisingly as a little kid growing up in the 80s, the Breitling watches I'm most familiar with were the sort of dressy sports watches worn by my Australian neighbours, both men and their spouses. They told me stories and taught me how to spot future collectibles. The vintage Navitimer and Chronomat collection are Breitling's classic and important timepieces but there is another One, less expensive to own but I believe will only appreciate over time, the one known as "Breitling Top Ten". Features to look out for

✓ I would prefer the one that has all 4 fonts: Breitling + "B" logo + Geneva +Top Ten printed on the dial
✓ Black-Silver dial combos in either the Panda or Reverse Panda configurations are just gorgeous.Vintage Watch collectors just love those dials
✓ As far as I know, there were 2 case designs for the Top Ten : Tonneau or cushion shape case and classical round. Either one is ok
✓ The majority of the Top Ten series had smooth bezels with an internal tachymeter scale. Finding one with an external tachymeter scale on the bezel is extremely rare and are more valuable
✓ Breitling in a James Bond movie. Sean Connery as agent double 0 seven wore a modified Breiltling Top Ten watch fitted with a Geiger counter in Thunderball 1965. ( last photo below minus the Geiger outer shell ).Now do you see the significance of a Breitling Top Ten associated with Hollywood?
✓ Hand Wound Chronographs either Venus 178 or Valjoux 77xx based calibres

Check out some examples just to whet your appetite for a Breitling Top Ten

Breitling actually had a price decrease a couple of months ago in UK, so I would push hard for a discount or buy used, then they are pretty good value and you don't lose much.
