Would you do this trade?

I was looking to sell a 1957 Speedmaster Trilogy, but was propositioned for an interesting trade.

16750 Pepsi, no box/no papers

In a circumstance like this, the first thing I'm doing (and YMMV) is going to RSC and having them service it so I'm then confident in the performance & history of the watch. I have to factor this into my decision making. I think both of these pieces will hold their value well. The Speedmaster is BNIB, here are pics of the Pepsi, thoughts?

I'd love to see how the response differ from here and the Omega subforum.

I don’t know the relative values or investment potential. Purely as a decision about which watch I’d rather own and wear, the GMT hands down.

I wouldnt send it to an RSC unless there are clear instructions not to swap out the dial/hands etc that they have been known to do. Rather I would send it to an independent to take care of it.

I'd like to see what a BNIB 1957 Omega looks like.

I love the GMT but I’m not for certain I’d do that trade honestly...the 57 Speedy is pretty badass

On the surface, it looks like an even Steven deal based on the $5k street price for the 60th Speedy.

But that's a average example and there's no boxes and Pepsi provenance etc. Treat it as a standard GMT that'll need $700 in service when it arrives.

You should be able to get a standard black or Coke one with boxes and recent service for a 1/1. Just swap the bezel insert for a Pepsi.

I prefer a GMT, but that one is average at best in my opinion.

Isn't it $6740 MSRP for just the Speedy 60th per Omega? You're not trading the 3 watch set are you?

$7,250, and if you can find one for $5k, you should jump on that.

Omega subforum? Of course but I'll do the talking here and level the playing field on the TRF by posting photos of the legendary iconic Speedmaster 57 Reissue Ref CK2915-1, the watch head in its purest form using 3D digital CT scanning.
✓ Just check out the prices on Chrono24 and its value will only appreciate over time. Keep in mind that an original Speedy 57 CK2915-1 is now worth over US$150 K
✓ A seriously essential timepiece in the collection of any watch connoisseur
✓ Pretty amazing when you realize it's actually a new watch that is 60 years old!
Personally speaking , I think it's amateurish and silly doing the trade. Keep the Speedy 57 & save up for the Pepsi. Once you lose the Speedy 57, it's lost forever...

I love the 16750, but as I don't know omega's and Megan (who does) thinks it is a bad idea I wouldn't do it.

While the Speedy is a very nice watch, it will go down as just another of the endless limited and anniversary Omega watches. There will be no 16750 re-issues. Own one while you can.

My biggest gripe with the brand; way too many LE releases.

Keep the new watch. Keep the Speedmaster. Years ago I traded my Speedmaster from about 1973, which I won new playing cards, for a Rolex Oyster from 1950. I regret the trade every day.

I would 100% make that trade. Speedy is nice but it’s a modern speedy made old. Gmt is vintage.

Go for it.

I would go for the GMT as long as it checks out genuine. Vintage increases in value better.

The 16750 GMTs are pretty hot right now though the earlier models with matte dials and no applied markers (or a 1675) are even hotter. Dollar for dollar you're still getting a very good deal on the trade. I wouldn't send to RSC. Find a watchmaker with a Rolex parts account.

Like someone else mentioned to many limited editions from Omega. I can’t see it holding value long term. Might not be a concern if you don’t ever want to sell.

I am not fond of GMT’s but between these two I would get the GMT and two inserts. Now you got 3 watches!!!
