I put away all the Rolex
I bought a $53 G Shock on Amazon and will be rocking this for the foreseeable future. I don’t feel right wearing a luxury watch considering the numbers of people about to be in dire straights.
No judgement on anyone. Maybe I’m too self conscious, but I don’t need to walk around with a car on my wrist at the moment. YMMV |

Well put. Thank you for your empathy. This is not the time to flaunt wealth when so many of our fellow citizens are in so much suffering. I don't know anyone who hasn't been materially negatively affected by this pandemic.

I posted a similar post on a Diamond enthusiast website and got my arse handed to me.
I wear my 16570 around the house, it gives me some pleasure and lift of spirit. Not to get off topic, I have a son who lives alone on the west coast and another son who is a Dr. in a hospital, being very stressed now. So any little pleasure, I have to take and enjoy for short spurts. OP, but I agree and understand your position. |

Agreed. Why subject yourself to needless scrutiny during these difficult times. Good thing Rolex is for the most part the only watch brand with that kind of social awareness. I think you could wear a Patek, JLC, etc without issue.

Very few people I run into even know what a Rolex is, and most of those that do already have one.
I respect the OPs decision to put his/her away, but I am not changing my watch wearing habits unless I start to get concerned about crime increasing. |

If you want to make a difference go give blood. Not wearing a Rolex isn't making an impact on anyone.
Regardless, enjoy and good luck. |

Whether you agree or not w/ the OP, it's good for each of us to make decisions that allow us to cope with these ever changing times.

I kinda of feel the same. I wear my AW5 and find it more useful than ever. I don't miss notifications while working remote, monitoring my sleep and HR, activity since our lifestyles have changed. The other day I walked to the store a few blocks away. I forgot my wallet, phone etc but was able to use Apple pay on my watch.

Thinking along these terms do you make other changes as well i.e.; downsize your house, not drive your 'nice' car, wedding rings, dress down, etc...just thinking out loud.

I tend to agree with this. I respect the practice of not wearing a Rolex and the empathy during these times tho. I’m only wearing mine around the house cuz I don’t go out anyway. If I were to go out I’d prob still wear it. Stainless steel, not flashy, no one knows Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well you can tell it its a replica, anyways I like your approach.
However if you think deeper, there are more peoples round the world. Just today there are over 100 babies and children died of starvation in Yemen. It might sound you YEMEN what is it Yemen? Far away from USA but over 8 years people are dying there cause of Saudis or lets say power play. sometimes before going to bed I think this and lost myself about the things I have or the meal that I throw away cause it does not taste good. If we move our thoughts in this direction we wont be living our lives any more. This system we live in, we did not build it. We are just here for 60 or 70 years maybe less maybe more. Just enjoy your every breath and wealth you got. I will wear mine. |

Disagree with the logic, but appreciate the empathy for others.

If you're not supposed to leave your house, what really matters what's on your wrist?

Are y'all not self isolating? Who's seeing that watch you are wearing? Unless you're in an all gold diamond studded watch, I'm guessing no one is noticing it. We have threads all the time about under the radar Rolexs that never get noticed. But we are all free to do whatever we feel necessary to get through the next few months.

Memo:
We don’t compare Rolexeses to a ‘car on the wrist’ any longer. It’s now, a case of Toilet Paper on the wrist. And I agree with your approach and empathetic act. Haven’t worn a traditional watch for about 60 days. Don’t miss it. Doing the Apple Watch instead. More convenient and a better all round tool going forward. Stay safe gents! |

Nice gesture but no one is looking at nor cares about what is on anyone else's wrist. That was also mostly true even prior to the crisis

My wife and I have AMG cars and she is classed as a key worker here in the UK. We would both feel uncomfortable about her using her's to go to work at the moment so she is using a different car. If I had to drive at the moment I would have to think if I wanted to use mine as well. We went to a local shop at the weekend and there were a couple of Aston Martins being used, it just didn't feel right somehow. |

I tend to agree and while these are certainly hard times, and can respect the OP position but this can easily apply at any point. If one looks around the times have been hard for many many people in the US and around the world for a very long time.

We are in Spain, wearing or not will not make any difference as you should be at home.

While I am not advocating wearing, or not wearing, any specific watch, be it Rolex or another brand, I do like the theme of this thread. I would be interested in seeing other's more humble watches in these more humble times.
I'll post one of mine. I find myself wearing this quite often due to its ruggedness and ability to read it at night. |

I wore my GMT today, but the Apple Watch is making a comeback full time.
