Using the proper Rolex tool of course, so no scratches and no bow-tie screw head! Simply heat up the area a tad bit and off ya go with the proper Rolex screwdriver

So..... FINALLY today i had time to take out a couple of links at the 6 o'clock side (keeping Easylink closed) and she fits great! Wear 'em and enjoy your time.
What does a proper Rolex screwdriver look like and where do I get one?

Yes, and c'mon we ALL KNEW this was a HUGE bubble. Have been collecting for decades and have seen the ups and downs a few times over the years. This recent bubble was the worst ever in history as far back as i can remember. Flippers were greatly 'interfering' with enthusiasts such as myself who love 'em and wear 'em.

i ignore it all and just keep enjoying my hobby as possible.

BTW, my collection includes desk clocks, vintage MIL plane mechanical time-keepers, a Grandfather clock hand-built to my specs using upper elevation Pennsylvania cherry wood i commissioned back in 2002 including hand-painted dial bits to my specs by an amazing artisan....

It's all about enjoying your time

Always happy to help. The 1.7mm tip (the one in the center of second pic) is the most-used.

Nice

Looks like MSRP watches are the new normal. And I think the days of -$3k for sizing a bracelet are over for good. Soon it will be back to 2009 when a pre-owned Daytona was less then MSRP when you wanted to flip it.

Congrats! Happy to hear you will be enjoying the watch to the full extent.

Interestingly, it’s funny to hear you (irreverently) say you lost $3000 in profit. I can’t quite pinpoint why this has always been amusing to me but here goes...

When you buy a Daytona at retail, the decision to keep it and wear it technically costs you almost $10k in flipping profit. There’s a long-standing argument that no one should ever pay a dime over retail. Of course there are some arguments over ethics of flipping, but largely it’s predicated on spending the additional money.

Excluding the other sub topics up for debate, I will just say, if one values that additionally 10k (market value) so much to not pay, couldn’t the same argument be made that it’s almost irresponsible not to flip the watch for profit, if you find the monetary value to be equal.

First off, I’m on day 19 of quarantine lol so I’m basically hallucinating, secondly, this topic is excluding all other factors of the topic, such as the principles ethics of flipping, the value of your AD relationship, etc. just a singular focused idea that I always found thought provoking. Or I could be delirious haha.

First, hope you feel better and all is fine with you soon.

You make good points and this bubble has been BRUTAL per se for normal mechanical watch enthusiasts. We had reports of people being flown (by grey dealers) around airports with pics of watches to buy, etc.

Crazy times indeed!

Ethics aside, it was a bubble market, and that WAS no hallucination. Now we see the other side as the bubble pops and have a feeling we'll be seeing many timepieces for sale, sadly barely ever to never worn, coming into the market for a fast sale before prices drop below what they paid for them. So 'soon' it will be a buyer's market as things get back to some semblance of 'normal'.

I just bought one by Horotec with the special bit so that Incan size my own watch since my AD is closed for the foreseeable future.

Great pic!. The white dial really needs direct light and high contrast to see its amazing beauty.

Look fwd to TRF getting back to more mechanical timepiece love posts and far fewer topics about value and flipping.
