Batman vs GMT LN

Was thinking about a Yachtmaster also, but narrowed the choices down to a GMT. A Pepsi is out of my price range , so either a LN discontinued, Batman or a black GMT. Are their differences in movement or comfort between the 3?(2019 +) Thanks in advance

The black GMT and oystersteel Batman both have the old rolex movement which has a 40 hour power reserve, thats pretty much the only difference

I've owned the Batman and the LN. Both are awesome, but I love the LN more; it's pure class. You get the classic, sober look of a Sub with a GMT hand. No distraction, no bright colors on half the bezel. It looks great on a suit at a wedding, at work or with jeans. The PCL adds that light dress up touch that is just enough to jazz up the all-black bezel and dial. I'd recommend LN. Both LN and Batman are very comfortable and are solid watches with good lume. I sold my Batman and kept the LN. I unhook the easy link extension at night and sleep with it on my wrist.

I have owned both, still own the BLNR for whatever that’s worth. Can’t go wrong with either and if you are patient may not be too much of a price difference between the two in the somewhat near future

I had an LN for about 5 years and I really liked it. After a while though, it became too "shiny" for me with the PCLs and all the high polished parts. I ended up selling it and buying my Pelagos.

While both are great, I'd pick the batman. Bicolor bezels are characteristic of the Rolex gmt. All black you can get a sub which is a more iconic 'all black sports watch'

Often when I see a Blnr in public I mistake it for an LN. similar watches. Can’t go wrong with either.

Have the ceramic LN GMT and put that on a black rubber strap. Not a big PCL fan. Dresses down great, super stealth all black, and adds to the utilitarian function of the watch. The green highlights are awesome.

I agree.

The black and blue bezel is a real chameleon with the bezel changing shades in varying light.

In certain light the the blue is quite evident.

In other lighting the bezel just looks black.

I love mine.

I'm so stuck on blnr.... Love both though but the blnr is the choice for me if only one.

The bi-color bezel makes BLNR more stunning than the ubiquitous LN.

I have the ln. it all comes down to taste. While the blnr is nice classic black will never go out of style

Batman vs GMT LN

I thought I was an LN or BLRO man, but having the BLNR may be convincing me otherwise. One thing’s for sure, for me the jubilee bracelet absolutely makes the watch.

I prefer the BLNR on oyster to the LN. But between the LN and jubilee BLNR I’d go LN.

For what it’s worth I wear the LN more

BLNR jubilee for me. The bracelet gives more elegance to the watch.

LN>BLNR Oyster>BLNR Jubilee>BLRO.

The Subdate in black is a classic look and the GMT LN is the only way to have that same business friendly understated elegance and also have the GMT function which is the most useful business friendly complication. Yes there are a lot more black bezel Rolex around than the others but that is because they are so classic and easy to wear with casual and business clothing. You can even get away with wearing the black bezel versions with evening wear (tux) - I would prefer a proper dress watch but is still works. The multicoloured bezels are just too casual. Also, let’s not fool ourselves - no one wanting to be original or different wears a Rolex. There are many more imaginative and less ubiquitous brands out there.

The only other really classy looking GMT function Rolex that can multirole is the Skydweller.

I was never a huge fan of the GMT as I always gravitated toward the Diver range in Rolex. And then lightening struck and I won the Batman on Jubilee in our last give away here on TRF. Once it arrived I was hooked. I found the bracelet very comfortable and shinny in a good way and the watch wore great. The blue and black bezel worked very well for me. I liked it so much I bought a Pepsi on Jubilee and now I have two. I like the LN but have it covered with Rolex Divers and two Explorer II's. No bad answer as each works well but I like the color of the Batman or Pepsi and the Jubilee is unique for me. Let us know what you decide.

When the New style reference was first released, LN 116710-0001, I was ready to dive right in. I wasn't happy with my older GMT reference fading which is common to the Red screen printed aluminum bezel.

I liked the Green printing and 24 Hour hand, but felt that all black was too similar to a Submariner. Which I already had in a Tudor Prince Oyster Date.

I didn't buy it and when the BLNR 116710-0002 GMT was released, It was no contest. I liked that the black part of the bezel represented night, and the blue part represented day, Much better than the Pepsi i had.

I still had to wait three years before I was able to pull the trigger, but it was the best decision I made. GMT Master IIc BLNR, is my absolute favorite!

BLNR is more ubiquitous than LN. in the wild I have seen more BLNR than LNs ten fold.

The blue half is like an M kit on a bmw. It just adds a whole another level to the watch.

Black GMT for me - I’ll never sell it. I had the bracelet brushed since I didn’t like the PCLs.

I get the LN arguments. But I'm from the school that a GMT Master bezel has to be bi-color to distinguish the time from night & day.
