You can search the classifieds to find out. From my experience, they show up here often and the price is going in one direction - up.

They seem to be going for $13k to $15k from trusted sellers, a little less on ebay. I paid $12k for mine from a trusted seller in excellent condition with box and papers a year ago.

They certainly shot yup in value once the ceramic was announced and haven’t looked back.

Anyone see any reason as to any they’d ever drop?

Try www.watchrecon.com and then search for 16710.

I feel like this reference was the forum darling 5 or 6 years ago, before the stainless steel craze really took off. Since it is discontinued and there is no spread between an AD price and a grey price it doesn't really fit with the current forum trends.

Not really a response to the OPs question, just an observation.

The market is hot prices aren't dropping. Due some research Watchrecon , Chrono 24 pretty easy to see what is happening. Good luck.

Its still bananas and there are likely more of them than 5 digit subs out there too. No justification for the kind of prices they are commanding now, well other than well it may quite possibly be the most versatile watch ever made.

I think this is a significant factor; changeable bracelets and bezel inserts give one lots of options.

Correct, and doubtful Rolex would ever produce another watch as versatile as the 5 digit GMT.

I also think that many folks (like me) might prefer the 16710 over the newer generation of GMT IIs for the following reasons:

1 - Aluminum bezels look really cool and have very crisp colors, even though they are not as durable as ceramic bezels

2 - The lugs are slimmer and taper a bit better with the bracelet

3 - The bracelet/clasp is more simple and light

I’ve never seen an aluminum insert shatter or crack….

True, but they do get scratched, and replacing them gets expensive. I machined a $50 aftermarket pseudo cerachrom insert that has vivid colors and doesn't scratch, shatter, or crack. It's not for purists, but works for me.

RSC prices to replace the aluminum inserts are pretty cheap.

Really? Has anyone here bought a genuine Rolex insert from an RSC lately? If so, what did you pay? If your 16710 model number is 16710N (black bezel insert) will Rolex sell you a blue-red Pepsi insert?

I just put my N bezel back on, have all 3. I finally pulled the trigger on this unpolished full set f serial from the orig owner in Aug '19 after looking for @ two years, all the while prices kept rising for 10.5k I wear and enjoy it much more than my Batman.

i bought my 2007 Z series Coke 16710 with everything included back in 2015 at £4500 and thought i had overpaid for a late model great condition watch. however i had seen these watches static at around £3000 for years and decided that as prices were rising it was now or never and took the plunge.

in hindsight clearly not a bad move and the last watch i would ever sell.

i added a 16570 black explorer 2 last year for much the same reasons

the 16710 has been out of production for nearly 15 years now so supply is reducing as they obviously aint making anymore and the good ones have been snapped up. any watches that enter the market place are likely to be priced accordingly to market conditions. i doubt if the price increase can continue at the same rate since i bought mine 6 years ago but i dont see the watch reducing in price any time soon so if you want one dont delay.

I’m seeing naked 16710 for 10k……papers 13-15…..as long as the ceramic is low 20s the 16710 won’t go down……….forget about price because it’s a keeper and give it to your child if you are lucky enough to have one….

Had the bezel changed on my Pepsi at RSC London last month.
The bezel itself was pretty cheap, around £45 I believe.

Unfortunately, Rolex have introduced a policy where they must charge to fit any new bezels (even though I said I could do it myself).

In total I paid around £130.

I did get a pretty cool metal case for my spare bezel though.

Wow, they insisted on changing the insert and charged £85 for the job? That’s pretty rubbish. 2 years ago I bought a Pepsi insert (for my coke) from RSC London (£40ish?) and although they fitted it they didn’t charge.

It’s currently with them for a service, and addition of jubilee and black bezel insert. I asked them not to fit the black insert but they insisted that they have to. Hopefully not adding £85 to the cost of service etc!

A year ago I was close to buy a very good one, refinished but good, at 12k.

That price is long gone!
