Rolex. Love the color contrast and I’m not a big fan of the Nautilus

You’d be crazy to favor Rolex in this case.

Do you want an Audi A3 or a Rolls Royce?

Not a real fan of either both very over hyped watches but today many buy the hype to wear it.

5980 hands down. not even close. miles ahead on every meaningful measure of mine. better looking, more interesting, more valuable, and i just find the whole yellow gold and green combo thing to be so unappealing.

Rolex 116508 green dial Vs Patek Phillipe 5980 1R-001

The Patek with absolutely no hesitation

It sits on an entirely different plane

Normally this would be a Daytona vote but in this case Patek all the way. Daytona green dial is meh. Passed on several opportunities to buy from David Williams at 26k when it was first released. Super hyped and overrated IMO

Not a fan if that green dial (love Hulk)...

Is there anything by FP Journe you're considering? If not, then I'd settle for the PP.

Either you're able to get either at MSRP and are crazy not to buy the Patek, or you're shopping on the secondary market, in which case you're even crazier for buying it

The only scenario in which the Rolex wins is if it is available at MSRP from AD and PP would be secondary market purchase.

I would choose the Patek because I don't have one. I do however dislike the porthole design of the Nautilus in general. I'd rather go with another popular Genta design, AP RO/Offshore.

Is this a serious question? The 5980 1R-001 is in a different universe. Some "this or that" comparisons are close, but you've got to be a completely blinkered Rolex fanboy to go for the Daytona in this case I'm afraid.

How is this even a question. 5980R by like 100000000000000000000000000x

They are not even on the same playing field.

Exactly this, makes me laugh every time on this forum that people compare Rolex to high horology makers like PP, AP etc.
