Incoming: Omega 3861

So, after sitting on the sidelines for the new Omega Speedmaster since release I decided to see what all the fuss was about. I had handled the new model several times at a local AD and liked it. Not enough to buy it for full retail but enough for it to stay on the list. I own the 1861 Speedmaster and really like the watch but after spending countless hours watching YouTube videos and reviews I decided to see if the changes and upgrades are worth the money. I found a slightly pre-owned model on a bracelet with one of our Trusted Sellers and negotiated my best deal and now it is mine. First impressions are the bracelet is worth the upgrade by itself. Once adjusted it fits well and is exceptionally comfortable. No hair pulling or sharp edges as reported in some reviews for me.

The movement is spot on for the almost 24 hours of ownership I have had the watch. The dial is great with more detail and overall looks. We will see if the honeymoon lasts as I will continue to wear my 1861 some. There is only room for one in the collection, so we will see. The Omega box and inside goodies are gone from the 1861 model but it is what it is.

Congrats. I love mine. I have worn it nearly every day since I got it. I agree - the bracelet is very comfortable. I have no issues with hair pulling or discomfort, in fact, it's the most comfortable watch on bracelet that I own (I don't have a Jubilee...yet).

I decided to do a power reserve experiment a few days ago. I wound it fully at noon and let it sit... when I checked at midnight last night, it was still ticking and keeping accurate time at that, despite being near the end of the wind.

I woke up this morning to see the watch stopped at 4:23. So that's almost 64 and half hours for power reserve. Excellent considering Omega advertises 50 hours.

Also, my movement has settled into a consistent +0.4 seconds per day - unofficially, I don't have a timegrapher, I just calculated how many seconds ahead I was from when I set it at DST. and compared it to my phone. Either way, that's quartz territory.

With the new movement, new bracelet, slimmer case, and stepped dial, the new Speedmaster is a big winner in my opinion. Well worth the increased cost.

Outside of the internal movement upgrades and bracelet, the textured dial is impressive in person. I too have tried it out several times and I am getting closer to picking one up as well. Congrats on the incoming and i hope to join the club one day myself.

Looks great, congrats! Some have mentioned that the dial is of a darker shade on the new models (somehow "more black"), could you comment on that, please?

I think the color on the dial is similar. A lot has to do with lighting and in certain light the dial has a grey appearance.

I’m torn between the Haselite & Sapphire… leaning towards Sapphire this time though

So the 1861 did not make it a long time and it is gone. It is a great watch and if it was not so close I might have kept it. The 3861 works better for me based on the new movement and the accuracy, plus 1 second a day. The bracelet, visually I am hooked and it wears great. I have a deep collection of watches but once I am done and not wearing a watch I just move them along for something else that interests me. If the 3861 had not been introduced then my 1861 would have stood the test of time but now that job falls to the 3861. I will see how it goes and at some point I will put the 3861 on a strap or two but for now it is the bracelet.

No movement issues and I really like the bracelet. Some say the bracelet is sharp and a hair puller but I have not experienced any of that.

Congrats! Everyone talks about the bracelet but I really like the changes to the dial, too.
