Misaligned Cyclops

Was lucky enough to acquire new TT Sub Date from AD; however, cyclops misaligned, slants downward ever so slightly. I have viewed previous posts re this issue suggesting learn to live with it or return watch to AD/RSC for repair. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who encountered a misaligned cyclops and returned the watch for repair.

With no pic it's difficult to guess how misaligned it is, but ultimately if it bothers you then ask to have it fixed. I have no doubt it will be fixed under warranty. I once had a problem with some slightly misaligned text on a Sub, and I had that fixed with no questions asked under warranty.

I once had one fixed. It was under warranty.

It'll be within a tolerance that meets Rolex QC standards. The date on my 116610 was high and this is what I was told.. I lived with it. A Rolex with a flaw is a novelty ;)

Misaligned Cyclops

Were you satisfied with the quality of the repair?

This is the master watchmaker who puts on the cyclops lenses when he’s not painting letters on the dials.

RSC Dallas squared it away. Came back perfect.

It was on a Datejust that I purchased used. Had two years of warranty left when I bought it.

I think this was in 2015 or '16.

I was told it's made to read the dial easier.

That makes me realise I wish they didn’t use the cyclops at all. I like the small date window

Rolex has become a slave to the cyclops as dials have enlarged over the decades. They could just move the date window a tad to the right and enlarge it, to be easily readable. My near eye-sight is quite poor but I have a few watches with no cyclops, on which I can easily see the date.

Very helpful to make sure you don't miss 5:00 martinis!

Just wait until you reach an age when the cyclops is perfectly useless.

I still like the cyclops on my Rolex watches, but unless I have my glasses on, I can't read a date with or without a cyclops.

Hell, I can barely read the time without my glasses.

Strong support for the no-date options - I love my no-date sub.
