Where would you advise going / (ringing) if venturing outside of London?

ringing... no where. You need to go in person. No AD really takes phone calls seriously, especially in the UK.

I would just avoid the chains, and hit some of the smaller areas as far from London as possible.

I purchased one 2 weeks ago by chance from my local Goldsmiths.

No previous history and was not on their list

Go in person and ask

Not the UK but US east coast request at my AD had me the 114060 in 3 months as well. Picked it up on Sept 15th.
