What makes the subconscious pick a certain watch to wear?

Anyone else do this?

Every day I walk up to the watch winder and grab a watch.

Almost every day its the Ceramic White Daytona.

The Sub C if I'm doing something reckless.

The GMT Pepsi has seen the wrist two short times and still has the plastic on it...

I'm a denim and T shirt or hoody kind of guy and they all work.

Curious to what y'all lean towards?

I typically rotate fairly evenly except when I travel... then it's the GMT...

If your watch is an accessory to your wardrobe you'll pick accordingly.

If wardrobe is a non-issue, then you'll grab the one that makes you smile that day.

Don't overthink it......just smile and roll with it.

My current mood. I have to say that it's been rather freeing after finally getting down to two watches. I could feel the angst build each morning as soon as I'd turn the shower on as to which watch I would wear.

Everything is locked in the bank except my GMT and Nomos...so it all depends on whether I wear a suit or not since only the Nomos is on a strap.

My daily pick is based on my mood and possible plans for the day. Love rotating watches.

Where am I going? What am I doing? What am I wearing?

Even still, I go 16610 most of the time

Take the stickers off the GMT because your subconscious is saying flip it.

I all but stopped wearing my iwc once I got the diver. It was the day to day comfort, beauty and practicality I liked. Passed the iwc to my brother for him to have instead.

1. The clothes I'm wearing that day (Casual or Formal)
2. The kind of work I'm doing (Business meetings vs. hanging out chilling with friends)
3. The color of my clothes and the color of the watch

This is why I've been wanting to get the new JLC reverso tribute but can't see a setting I can rock it in except strict formal meetings plus I'm not sure of how often they breakdown compared to rolex.

It’s only worth being a watch collector if you can embrace all of them and not stick to a favourite

I rotate every week but my rotation consists of choose 1 metal and 1 leather watch per week.

Occasionally I switch watches mid week depending on my attire and any specific events like requiring a dress watch

The only other change I make from the norm is I almost always wear a Tudor black bay when I go away for a break / beach / swimming etc

Most days it's either my Submariner or my Speedmaster Pro, depending on my mood, but today it was the Speedmaster Pro because I'm meeting with the CFO this afternoon, and he wears a Submariner :-)

Plans, activities, attire for the day usually drives the watch decision. Sometimes though I pick the watch first and grab attire to go with it.

Some pick their watches and some watches pick their owners. Sometimes your own personal style reverberates with a particular watch even though your head chooses watches that may be popular on the forum or other reasons. I have learned to listen to my inner voice and channel it in my watch purchases. I try to keep price completely out of the equation.

What am I wearing and where am I going... Most work days for me I am in scrubs so essentially anything can go with my attire. I tend to wear my more sporty pieces while at work: Luminor 1950, Speedmaster Professional, or Submariner Date. If I am traveling, my GMT-Master II is more or less exclusively the watch I wear. If I am in need of something more dressy, I go with my Radiomir 1940 or Datejust.
