GMT BLNR date wheel hung

So I noticed that my date wheel on my GMT got stuck b/t 11 and 12 until for about an hour before it finally changed to 12 close to 1am. For nearly an hour it was hung b/t the numbers.

Normally I'm not OCD about this stuff but I brought it down to the RSC here in Singapore anyway to get an opinion. They said that the absolute limit they deem to be acceptable for the date to fully change is 12:02.

Luckily the watch is under warranty and they've taken it in to be serviced free of charge (but only b/c it is under warranty), but does anyone else think this should happen to a watch $9000 in under 3.5 years? My 1 year old Sub LV date changes just about perfectly at midnight but I think it's odd that this happened to a watch where the date change could actually affect your ability to know what time/day it is in another time zone.

Anyone else encounter this problem?

Rolex uses a cam system and sometimes they can get a bit dry, so it could need lubrication for the jewel to slide off the cam. It does not indicate a huge problem with the watch, and by cycling the date wheel around a few times normally corrects this tiny problem

Not a big deal. It's good to see a well worn GMT. Keep up the good work!

Yes this what they said to me as well except that it shouldn't take a full hour for the date to change. 2 minutes past midnight is the maximum Rolex allows before they deem it as a problem.

It is very well worn as all Rolexes are meant to be. It's been with me to 21 countries and counting. My favorite Rolex I've ever owned.

I hope your GMT will be fine
It would be great if you could share more pictures of your well worn Rolex.

Not that I've noticed on mine, then again if I'm up that late, I usually have a few cocktails in me.

I would have done the cycling of the dates first, see if the problem persists, and if so, only then leave it with the RSC. Good luck with your well.worn watch

No defect should happen to any watch, ever. That's why it's called a defect. But they do happen sometimes. That's why companies provide warranties.

Defects will always occur in anything made by man. There's no such thing as perfect aside from the subjective idea of what that might be. Italian bikes and components come pretty close though.

My 116710LN is a couple months old and the date changes at 12:03 or so. It’s still not a problem worth opening the case over.

It may have happened when you got that larger dent at the 1-2:00 lug, or is that just the pic?
