AP easily, but if you're going to daily wear it like vacations, pools, playing with kids, general every day life....Daytona. The AP is more of a weekend warrior for me and the superior watch.

Daytona because its a daytona and you can use it as a daily. From what I've heard (i don't own AP) from some AP owners the AP is not as robust as Rolex for daily use esp the SS models.
I have the SS Daytona and will aiming to get a SS AP down the road, so it wouldn't be a THIS or THAT. It is a "I GOT BOTH" scenario |

agreed but unfortunately you'd never be able to tell from photos. really is a watch you have to see in person to understand

Lucky to have both…
Daytona for wearability. AP for occasional wear. Both are great options for the purpose that suits them.

Daytona. Not a fan of chronos but at least the Daytona looks good.

Between those two AP for sure. But would rather have any PM Daytona over either.

Daytona here as I prefer the bracelet and round design.

Both are gorgeous timepieces. Daytona is cheaper and better investment if you purchase from AD at msrp.

I’m fortunate to own a few Daytonas and a RO.
To me, the Daytona is a much more versatile watch - vey sporty but also fine to wear with a sport jacket too. The AP Chrono to me is a bit more confusing - can’t see wearing it with shorts over the weekend - the Offshore would be a better call for that. So I sorta feel like you need two APs (chrono and offshore) to cover the same ground as the Daytona. |

The Daytona is the better looking of the two.

AP designs from dial to case the bezel and down to the bracelet are a mess in my humble opinion.

AP. It is a different class of watch. Only in this overhyped market does the Daytona get put side by side with it.

Daytona, if I could only have one at MSRP. The AP does not have a quick bracelet adjustment, date window is off center, potentially less robust movement and lower water resistance rating. 13.5k-ish retail compared to 29k -ish retail, Daytona all day.

AP for sure. Fit, finish, and construction are on another level. Probably in the minority here, but I find the white 116500LN incredibly underwhelming in person… I don’t get all the hype.

I’d pick the AP. It’s an excellent watch in all the important categories and something that stands out without being over the top.

Opinions here are very divided but out of these two I would pick the Daytona based on aesthetics alone, I preferred the looks of it over the AP.

Of those two the Daytona. Though I’m not really a fan of those either. AP I don’t get in general. Clunky, busy, dated design without being a classic or classy. Celebrity fad.

Why do you ask? Are you looking to sell one? If so, what is your lifestyle, because you’ll be wearing the remaining watch daily.

I’m not a fan of either. Reason is, I don’t like busy dials.
However, if I had to choose one, the Daytona it is. |
