Ceramic Bezel Replacement

Wondering if anyone has a ceramic bezel replaced at an RSC. While taking off my watch yesterday before a round of golf I carelessly placed it on the seat of the golf cart and it slid off and fell. The end result is a crack in the bezel.....on the bright side escaped any dings to the case. Curious as to the cost and if it’s worth just waiting until a full service to due to have it replaced. The watch is only 2 years old and keeps good time so probably not in need of a service at this point.

Pissed at myself and probably won’t be able to look at it everyday so most likely will just send it in to be replaced.....just wondering what to expect.

Must be frustrating. Would send to RSC anyway as an impact like that would warrant a movement evaluation.

Thanks for the lesson to others. Watch is always safer on the wrist.

Now that it is cracked it may not seat in the bezel so the risk of losing the entire thing may have increased if it deteriorates more.

Likely there is little more harm than that in waiting.

Seems like it's around 750 for parts and labor to replace, but prices have been moving since the technology is more accessible

Think you can call RSC to inquire

I’d keep wearing it as is and see if it worsens.

Should have just left it on! Haha

I cracked the white bead on the bezel of my Deepsea.

When I sent the watch in for a service, RSC quoted me around US$700 or thereabouts to replace the bezel.

I declined.

Sorry to hear that. Almost everything that involves taking the watch off to keep it safe likely increases risk to the watch. Especially in my house with little ones.

I wouldn’t be able to spend a minute looking at a watch with that damage, it’d drive me crazy.

If you aren't getting it fixed pronto, I would definitely put a piece of clear tape over top of it. If any of those pieces come loose, they will probably be razor sharp and go through skin like a hot knife through butter. That would suck.

Also, what model is that? I believe I've read the ceramic bezels with colors are more expensive than the all black ones.

I’d fix it, scratches are one thing and shattered material that could crack away is another…and I’d never take it off during a round of golf again!

As long as the watch keeps good time there is no rush imho. Still I would fix it, looking at this would bother me too much

Should be way less, official price for the part is €240 and labour would be €90 if the watch is damage free for the rest.

My father owns a jewelry store, he does not carry watches but owns several Rolex watches. He sends his and his customers to zimbals in Florida (I cannot post website since I am new for forum) for repair. I don’t know if you can send as an individual or if you must have a jeweler send.
They use Rolex parts and warranty their work. They have repaired my wife’s several times as she is rough on watches.

One of the downfalls of ceramic even though a bit more scratch resistant they will shatter and even scratch. Then afraid quite costly to replace I would take a aluminium insert every time over the ceramic. Very cheap to replace and a possible DIY change where the ceramic is not.

Ceramic Bezel Replacement

You can churn to some fun by replacing with the custom made gem set bezel

Sorry to hear, that’s an expensive round of golf.

Rolex will charge for the bezel change (I heard they are expensive, 240 euros sound too little who can confirm?) and will want to do service on the watch…

Not sure what I would do… maybe keep it as is for a few year as a daily reminder to be careful (and stop slicing into the woods) :)

Sorry to hear about the bad luck….nice to see the Crystal held up with no chipping or cracking……I would think most of the times they would both crack or chip…..but the Crystal is much thicker
