Rolex spotting while on vacation . . .

I just returned from a week-long vacation to Jackson Hole. We stayed at the Hotel Terra and spent a lot of time in Yellowstone.

I've never seen so many Rolex's. It was like every 3rd person was wearing one! I literally saw at least 25 in that 7 day period. In fact, 2 of the 3 Delta FA's on the flight back to ATL were wearing Rolex's!!!

I saw new Sub's, new GMT's on the jubilee bracelet, older GMT's, Day/Dates, and several PM pieces.

Where were you when you saw the most Rolex's being worn?

It has to be at one of the airport lounge. Too many black subs though it got boring. Im hoping to see SkyD in the wild but havent seen one yet.

That’s exactly how my recent vacation was to Turks. Rolexes galore. Subs, Daytonas and GMT were a dime a dozen.

The most exciting one to see was a Milgauss just because it was a nice change from all the subs.

I see quite a few when I venture to Pittsburgh. I’m going to The Northern Trust next month so I’m sure I’ll see a ton at the tournament, as well as in the city

Disneyland (or any other normal touristy place). 75% - No watch; 24% - Apple Watch; <1% - Other. Only two Rolexes out of thousands and thousands of people.

Hopefully they are all fake can’t see how there is such an increase since Rolex hasn’t upped production.

There do seem to be a lot more out there recently for some reason. I guess a lot of folks bought watches during lockdown.

Maybe folks want to stand out in a sea of Apple/Smart watches - at least I hope so

Santorini and Naxos in Greece.

Unbelievable saturation of Rolex wearers, men and women, from subs everywhere to white Daytona’s, and day dates, I saw everything, it was voyeuristic heaven!

Yep same here Rolex's everywhere I go these days.

Rolex was the everyday hard working mans watch for decades. I guess the recent boom has just made it more mainstream and less exclusive.

I was in Italy for vacation, and I couldn’t help but notice everyone wearing Rolex’s! In Rome I was seeing a bunch of bluesys, oysterflex daytonas and deep seas JC. Even the doorman at the Gucci store was wearing a coke! Couldn’t believe it

Speaking of airports, anyone else get separation anxiety when you have to place your watch on the TSA tray

You must consider the fashion sense of the clientele; Rolex’s and tank tops that say “I’m with stupid” or “my other car is on cinderblocks” don’t often mix.

Rolex has been selling 800K+ watches a year for years.

Yours is a very strange statement to make, there is nothing rare about a Rolex

Most Rolex watches I’ve ever seen in one place was at a Rolex event during the US Open golf tournament. Dozens of ADs, each with a handful of their best clients…..In a room of 150, 90% wearing.
When the women are wearing pm Daytonas, GMTs and Subs, you know it’s a thick presence.
Also, lots of knuckle to knuckle diamond rings.

There’s nothing strange about my statement. Rolex production has taken a hit for 2020 and 2021. The OP inference to seeing so many Rolex on vacation this year as compared to years past doesn’t make sense since not that many people world wide could possibly have bought Rolexes recently.

The most I've seen was recently at an NBA Finals game. Many Patek, AP, and an RM as well, in addition to Rolex.

There are 70k Rolexes for sale right now on chrono24. eBay shows 38k for sale.

There are more Rolexes available now than most other times in history. Just have to pay market prices.

The only “shortage” is getting one at MSRP

Please, not the silly Chrono24 numbers again!

There are fewer than 7,000 brand new, unworn 2021 Rolex watches listed as available now on C24. If you discount listings with stock photos, you MAYBE have a few thousand watches.

That’s around 6,097 more than are available at my AD right now based on what is in the case

Any Rolex you want is for sale right now at market price. New subs, old subs, hulks, kermits, rainbow Daytonas, 5 digit Explorer2 with 3186 movement, 14060, 14060m, etc

If anyone wants a Rolex today they can have it by the end of this week more likely than not. Just pay market price

Rolex spotting while on vacation . . .

I’m in turkey, Antalya, a resort especially great if you have young kids. This guy is sitting next to us with his family at the pool for the last 3 days. Wears a YG Daytona with diamonds. Also wears a thick golden neckless and bracelet. Tanned almost black and walks around like he’s the godfather or something. So definitely won’t comment on his watch, will make him feel like a bigger maffioso than godfather.

Lots of Rolexes here in the resort, all kinds from SS to PM, sports models and classic ones. The one that stood out was the YG gold Daytona green dial; stunner in person. Spotted a few PP’s and AP’s also. Not exceptional at all…

Agree with your point. Rolex watches are available at market price.

My point is.... there are a few thousand new Rolex watches on Chrono24 out of app. 500K watches Rolex has delivered so far this year. Not a big deal.

I don’t see many here where I live and I’m ok with that

Where I’ve seen the most, relatively speaking, is on airplanes. I usually see at least one or two of the crew members wearing them as well as a few of the passengers
