Question about Panerai Strap Sizing

This is my first post in this Forum, but I have been a member for a while...
Quick question,
It seems that my wrist is a tweener.
If I go to one strap hole it is a bit too snug.
If I loosen to the next hole, it is a bit too loose.

Are there any suggestion for this? I can imagine one solution is to punch a hole in between, but there has to be another way...what say you?

How fresh is the strap?

A leather strap will loosen up with wear. Also the wrist size changes during the day or summer / winter.

The answer, my friend, is custom straps. Standard Panerai straps don’t fit my wrists well either so I found Cordes Leather and David has been very helpful in fine tuning the sizing for my 6.75” wrist.

The strap will loosen up. Your wrist will be a different size in the summer and winter. I've went to a shoemaker and had him punch holes in between my custom straps also.

Panerai also offers straps that use Velcro. So you can 'size it' however you desire.

I do not plan on ever selling this piece, but that is what I always say...so I am hesitant to punch a hole in the OEM strap...but this seems like a solid idea...where can you find a shoemaker these days?

If it's fairly new, give it time. I found that eventually it stretches or at least breaks in to be looser.

Or you can buy a set of punches and a mallet on Amazon.

I would affix the watch on the tighter end, wear it a bit, and allow it stretch. This can take some time and requires some wear and tear on the strap. It might also stretch the hole that the buckle pin sits in. I have found, however, that in time all my straps stretch whether I wear them tightly or not. I'd rather my straps stretch into a perfect fit than a looser one.

The issue with Panerai and straps is that you really have 3 different variables: the case shape, the case diameter/size, and the strap size. Any one of those could result in a different fit. The strap material is also important. A rubber strap is obviously far more tolerant when tight versus a brand new leather strap.

Good call thanks, have you found that after wearing Steel Bracelets, that the Panerai without deployment buckle can be easy to drop?...I have dropped mine a couple of times at night before sleep. Just so used to Rolex Steel bracelets that stay together.
