i like my EasyLink

Presently in the UK we have soaring temperatures, and now I know how to quickly adjust my EasyLink, the watch is comfortable hot weather or cold!

The other innovation in those new oyster links with pin threaded at the slot end and what I first thought from the pictures (of it) to be a 'plastic' sleeve over the pin, is now described as a 'ceramic' sleeve? If all of the links in the new designed bracelet each have a sleeve over the pin, then metal to metal wear between the pin and individual link right through the bracelet must be reduced? Good!

I hardly use mine, the extra 5mm is just too loose, 2 or 3mm would have been better imo.
But I guess it's better than nothing.

Exactly my thoughts. I still use it, it’s loose when in use but better than it being too constrictive.
It’s a serious design flaw from Rolex. Should’ve just put the pro bracelet on all watches, or at least the opportunity to have two settings.

Who the hell took the decision on the 5mm…

Depends how you like to wear your watches, I like mine to stay in the same place and not move around on the go so a relatively tight fit it optimal for me. When I open the easylink no matter how warm it's just far too much of a jump. 2 – 3.5mm would've been ideal IMO.

Yeah similar experience for me. In all honesty and I know people will react angrily but I'm very disappointed in the Rolex bracelets. The old five ref bracelets was an insult ("tin can" bracelet - yes it worked, yes in those days it was a too watch, but there was no heft to it). The datejust 6 ref bracelets is an improvement but with a serious flaw of the 5mm just discussed. I guess the only good bracelet (quality + functionality) is to be found on the pro models.

Sorry, but Rolex dropped the ball there (or cheaped out).

Honestly, I struggle to even wear my Rolex in this heat. Too much stickiness for me.

I agree. I find the Easylink perfect for on the rare occasions I sleep with my watch, I let it out as I hate a tight watch when sleeping.

I like it too. Tighter for winter and looser for summer.

There is bound to be those who find the 5mm adjustment not satisfactory. But with 10mm distance between the pins on the removable link, then 5mm is just half a link adjustment.

I wear my watches snug. With my 214270 I have two links out and the easy link extended. The watch fits like a globe. Having only owned the watch since the Spring here in warm NC I am interested to see if the feature will help during the colder months.

Same! Mine is tight in the morning, so I take it out. Then it gets a little loose around lunch so I take it in. I can make the adjustment in about .4 seconds and it always fits perfectly.

Same, EasyLink is a really simple, pragmatic solution to a problem. Love it on my DJ41.

5mm is a little much for me. I like the 2mm Glidelock better.

Too much for me as well.

Mini glidelock would be the perfect in-between IMO

Nice feature for sure. But prefer the Glidelock on my sub.

So far not a single comment to my references about the screw pin 'sleeve' now found displayed in photos about the spare link for the new design oyster bracelets.
Does anyone know if the construction of the new (later) bracelets have a 'sleeve' for each bracelet link, or is it just the spare links? Looks to me a sensible way to perhaps overcome bracelet stretch in the future??

I like the Easylink and use it consistently in the warmer months. Glidelock is still the best for me but it is nice having the adjustability on the fly.

A mini glide lock would be better, 5 x 2mm adjustments would fit nicely in the standard clasp.

I don't see how it can be done, the mechanism needs space to work between the 5mm 'jumps' inside the clasp top.

I am a big fan of the easy link, and usually prefer it.

but In this current climate in the uk I’m unable to wear my sky dweller because I’m actually using the full range of the glide lock on my sea dweller, and it’s still tight at full capacity, where I’m sometimes back down to the last notch or two by the evening.

It’s a real issue for me with some of my watches I do a lot of weight training snd ny diet reflects the change in size in my body but I have to buy links extra links for all of my watches from factory now.

Love the easylink but yes I would much prefer if micro adjustments could be made without a tweezer

Rolex have already done it with the YM42, which has a smaller glidelock clasp, so I don't see why they can't introduce it into other sport references.
