Markets can't sustain this type of scenario though, if there is no new stuff selling then the pre-owned will gain in value at a higher rate, it's a simple case of supply and demand, and of course if nothing new sells then companies go to the wall and pre-owned suddenly become 'vintage' and 'rare'.

I would be shocked by the number of high end watches I could have owned if I'd just not funded other hobbies and sports. I would never trade what I've experienced and enjoyed for a watch that sits in a drawer most of the time. A watch that appreciated a few thousand dollars is nothing compared to that.

Agreed the whole situation is a daft - take the 292 for example, I would have bought on sight, but no chance.

Instead, I have become a hater (slightly) and moved to other brands. Sorry.
