47mm submersible and 40mm submariner - a good match?

I went by a cafe today and saw 6-7 men with subs or gmts. Honestly this has reduced my cravings for a sub (for the time being).

Thanks. I have the same problem where I live. Everyone has a steel Sub or GMT but I still love Rolex. So my solution is to buy seldom seen Rolex models to differentiate myself but still enjoy one of my favorite brands.

That's how I feel when I go to Las Vegas or Miami and see everyone with a Sub or GMT on , I love to see them but I just like to have something different on when this stituation happen.

The funny thing is maybe they are saying the same about us! Ha Ha Ha Ha

They've been making those watches for over 50 years so there are tons of them out there...but that doesn't diminish them...at least not in my eyes. The GMT is still my all purpose watch and when I went away for a week recently it was the watch I took.

I am sorry if you thought I meant by seeing so many in the wild that it diminish them, not at all, I like spotting Subs in the wild. I was just stating that when that situation happens, I like to have on something different so that I'm just not a part of the crowd. That's just me, I can only speak for myself, I respect and appreciate all brands.

I have been a Sub owner for over 25 years (my first love), and I started my GMT collection with the Pepsi, so I know that there are a lot of them out there, especially with the Sub annual production right at a million.

I'm not big on the term "subs" and I would bet that those 6~7 guys were wearing Submariner Dates and GMT IIs... no? The point I'm getting at is there's a big difference between a Submariner and Submariner date and an even bigger difference with the different generations of both. And who knows, maybe one of them was even a Sea Dweller...

It is a good match... Will have you covered for most occasions. GMT can be a daily watch and for the dressier occasions. The 305 can be the weekend warrior. Here are mine.

Well I got a 47mm 2 days ago, the 217, so can't really say yet, but before I was going from 233 (44mm) to Sub C, and yes even going from 44 to 40 is a big difference, you have the impression that the Sub is very small, so I can imagine from 47 to 40...

It's very easy, I put my Sub either when I put long shirt sleeves, or when I go in places where you don't have many chances to see some (I live in Paris so there are a few around), outside of this I put my Pams, few people know what is a Panerai, even in Paris
