Rubber strap for 15400 white dial, small wrist question

Hi folk. Had AP itch for ages and hopefully going to scratch it soon...

So my aim is for the white dial 15400. I understand this is 41mm and tend to wear large due to the metal bracelets. 6.25 inch wrist here and I would hate to see gaps hanging between my wrist !

I've had a chance to try on my cousins roo white diver last month- and being 42mm the rubber strap actually fits / hugs pretty decent ( although small gaps still exist). However I know I can never truly enjoy this diver as a daily wearer due to the height and size of the case. Great casual watch never the less.

So my goal is to have white dial 15400 with white rubber strap.

Is this doable ?

Other thing to bear in mind is that where I live there is no AP AD . So would have to purchase everything though a grey dealer.

Not sure how easy it would be to get the parts...etc.

P.s. I don't like leather band so much. Rubber for the sporty look!

Sounds to me that you actually need to take a good look at the AP 15450.

15400 is a bracelet model.

to wear with a strap you'll need:
4 plots
bars+caps
strap
clasp.

all in all looking at around $1600-1800 in parts

hard part is the plots, as AP will not sell them, you would need to find someone with 41RO on strap (besides the messi, not sure what was made that configuration).. steal their plots and then they send their watch to service to replace at heft cost.

it's not easy, but goodluck, also i dont even know if a white strap for 41mm RO exists..

the only 41mm ROC w/ straps are:
Messi (tantalum plots)
26326 boutique piece (steel)

rose gold models have straps but the plots will be.... gold.

just buy a 42mm offshore on strap ;)

At 6.25 I like the 15300 too...

I like the white dial of the 15300 -

The white 15300 seems to my eye more "white" and the 15400 a little more white/silver.

Welcome to AP! Looking forward to the incoming thread

The OP there bought the whole conversion kit, rubber, and leather strap from Japan AP. Certainly looks like it can be done but costly.

My 2 cents, but putting a strap on a bracelet RO basically takes away one of the best aspects of that watch...

Go on Chrono24 and get a white 15300, there still are a few, plus the 15300 is the nicest white dial RO and it is a little smaller which should be better for you

You need to try one on. I have a 6.5' wrist and the watch fits perfectly. I doubt you'll have a problem.

Much appreciated for the info indeed.

Looks like it's a no go then. Nearest AD for me is in Australia and its 3 hours flight away! Also I am looking to buy from the TD here which is based in the US.

I was hoping AP would be more liberal in selling parts like Panerai does.

I wonder how the 15300 will wear. 39mm isn't too much of a difference to 41mm , especially with the wide integrated bracelet on the RO.

Might have to go with 15450 then ....

No AD here which is the problem.

Do you own other Rolex models as well? Perhaps you can do a comparison ?

I find the subc and BLNR fits great. But the new ExpII wears a bit large.

I can wear my 44mm pam sub no problem.

I am afraid the AP bracelet will leave a wide gap on my wrist seeing it is not as flexible as rubber or leather.

I have 7" wrists (slightly larger on a humid day) and I find the 15400's 41mm case way too big. The issue for me is the lugs hanging over the sides as my wrists are narrow (but thick). If your wrists are thin but wide, you may be able to get away with the 15400. My personal preference is the 15300 - it offers the perfect combination of fit and comfort. Good luck.

You're a prime candidate for a 15450! Will look great.

Much appreciated for your pics. Looks fantastic on your wrist indeed !!

After a bit of google pic (and soul) search yes 41mm is definitely a no go. 15450 seems to be the best option for now. Sign.... goodbye 15400

I would prefer to buy BNIB / late model if I can (worried about servicing on older 15300s) and even the 15300 might look too big on the wrist.

Had a look around and there's seems to be a lack of 15450 for sale from the trusted grey market sellers. ( plenty of 15400 though)

My question now is :
(1) is 15450 a bit like the 40mm panerais - stigmatised as a lady's watch and have poor resale down the line
(2) why are there so little around ? Are they just not as popular ?
(3) most 15450 I see has white dial. But I see on AP website a blue dial is available as "novelty" . Does this mean it's not a regular production watch?

Agree, it's its main USP. Look at the smaller models.
