Rolex is dead today ?

SD4k was for me the only acceptable watch of the 6 digits ref. The new Red SD just does not do it for me. I think 5 digits era ended Rolex golden years. I know today that I will hunt my next Rolex watches looking backward. A piece of Rolex is dead today for me.

Eh...happens every year. People line up to complain about the offerings at Basel. Then a bunch of people buy them.

No, I don't think Rolex is dead.

disagree, they have miles of runway. I only like about 1/4 of the rolex models enough to buy them. This just happens to be one of the years where they didn't update anything I care about. Next year, probably a different story.

A bit dramatic

If you are a 5 digit fan, then how is the Explorer 1 not "acceptable" as is ?

Oyster Perpetual is pretty darn consistent

Daytona (especially the YG and TT, but realistically all) have been true to form

Are the Sub C lugs really that much worse than the old SD4k? On the wrist you get over it pretty quickly and realize its not as big of a deal in the flesh as in photos, at least IMO and a 114060 is probably more consistent with its prior gen than the 116600 was (again IMO)

YM 1 has been pretty dang consistent over the years

I think you deserve a theater award

I didn't enjoy this year's releases, nothing caught my attention, however, there's a rule in the watch world.

I agree that the 5 digits were peak Rolex. But the brand is still selling watches, so not dead.

Not a lot of interest this year, but I'm pretty sure Rolex will survive.

Rolex has died many times in past decades, but has 11 digit numbers in balance sheet :)

Dead? That's silly.

Nothing new came out today that I am interested in. Big deal.

I just bought a brand new 2016 Explorer that was delivered today. I'm happy .

2016 Daytona C's are amazing.

Just because they didn't produce this year means Rolex is dead?
