Rolex is not even close to being dead. They are hotter than ever. Rolex owner's age is getting younger and younger. With all the social media and internet, more kids are exposed to the Rolex image at a younger age. Which means sooner or later once they have money they will buy Rolex.

It was an exaggeration. There's nothing to get over with the Sub C. It's great as is.

I wish I could agree. Those that have problems with the new SeaDweller finally know how many of us have felt about the SubC for years at this point.

Very well said.

Wow. Dramatic a bit? Rolex can't keep releasing the exact same watches in the exact same size and expect to keep up w the times. Get with it

Hell no! I LOVE me some 5 digits, in fact my only watch is my 16710, but I would love to own many of the modern Rolex as well. They make great watches.

Why? As a forum that combines lovers of 5-digit watches, 6-digit watches, and those who love both, I think it's fair to say that many of us feel this away about Rolex.

Hahaha... poor Karbo. Boo hoo. I'm pretty sure that Rolex is less concerned about about what you think and more concerned about what the masses think. Who's the masses you might wonder sitting in your internet bubble of group think? Here's a hint... the masses aren't wasting their time in an online watch forum wanting other to congratulate them for being purists.

How about some common sense? The Sea Dweller at 40 mm likely didn't have enough buyers willing to shell out the extra money for model that looked remarkably similar to the Submariner. I guess 4,000 feet was far more than anyone but a select few envisioned themselves going under water on their commute to work. Rolex, just like any other well run business, assessed the situation and came to the determination that they will likely sell more watches if they are unique, and have their own identity. Bravo Rolex. I love the New Sea Dweller.

Alive and kicking. This is my favorite Sea-Dweller ever. Larger case at 43mm, larger bracelet at 22mm, glossy dial to match the ceramic bezel, end links in perfect alignment with lugs, red letters, 3235 movement at last in a sports model.

It just ticks all the boxes for me. The SD4K was never in my radar. At 40mm, people would rather buy the Sub.

I'm the waiting list for this one. If fitting's good, baby's coming come.

....you are absolutely right...
The new Sea Dweller in reality is a:

SD: -Submariner.
-Dual.

Rolex seams to make marketing experiments on non major league Sports watches...
And goes with 'leadfoot' on the 3 cornerstones: Daytona, Submariner and GMT.....

2 years ago Rolex had the chance to distort the Daytona case...which is the same since the year of 16520...
But they just add some makeup ...
I would consider this policy very traditional...that tries to understand what we want

I love 5 digit. It's as close to the history of Rolex in a modern watch we will see. As you know they're not vintage, still modern. I can't see them having their own sub forum thou

Still, 20% of voters here in Rolexforums, the Rolex fan place. That means something.
