Look at these two videos – I think it's possible the size is more like the Exp II than the DSSD:

I really like the SD4k Red, and I hope it does well.

I'm 33 and like it too. Yeah I liked the SD without as well, but I actually like the look of the cyclops on Rolexes

I wish I could pull off a 43 mm watch if I could I would consider this one. I think the thickness puts me off more than the 43 mm size.

Excellent video. All 4 models look absolutely stunning.

I'm hoping the Sub will be slightly modified to the new SD's proportions in the next 2-3 years. Everything tapers beautifully from the case to the bracelet to the clasp, just like the old pre-6-digit Sub and SD models.

It will take me a while to get accustomed to a cyclops on a SD. But, gorgeous watch!

Agreed – and that's CRITICAL in my eyes. Still waiting for confirmation of the wider bracelet/clasp apart from just ablogtowatch's hands-on and video…

The Sea Dweller has always been basically a thicker Sub, and now it's wider too. I mean, the two watches are and always have been extremely similar to anyone other than a Rolex WIS. What exactly were you expecting?

I'm starting to warm up to this.

I don't have a Submariner Date and I don't have a SeaDweller in my collection. I think there's room for this one in my collection as it fits neatly between those two holes in the collection.

Wait and see.

Good Video of New SEA DWELLER

I scaled this one to 43mm on my phone, and the thickness measured about 16mm.

I'm fully aware of the similarities and have several of both....but now they are far too similar....the SD never had a cyclops and feel Rolex should have stayed true to the original design which separated the two references....not happy about the size at all as I feel the bigger watch fad is losing it's glow...I never liked anything bigger than 40mm with the only exception being my Speedy.....Ideally I wanted the same watch they came out with without the cyclops and smaller....that's it....what we're you expecting....what they came out with right?......

The diameter seems fine, the thickness is the part that's uncomfortable. But I guess that's always been the SD style.

Lugs

Is there a way to scale this to know the lug width? I would love to see 22mm but I'm guessing it's 21.

I did the same and from what I can tell, it's 22mm.

That said, I took the stock photos from Rolex' website, scaled them to 43mm width at the bezel and the thickness measures at 17mm at the top of the crystal and 18mm at top of cyclops.

Here are my measurements.
Width: 43
Height to Crystal top: 17
Height to Cyclops top: 18
Lug width: 22
Lug to Lug: 50-51

Pics to show scale.
The last pic of the height looks like it isn't lined up right on the ruler, but I assure you that it is. It's just the angle of the pic.
