2020 Rolex Models

Does anyone know roughly when Rolex release new 2020 models and when they are usually available to purchase?

If and a big if they release any real new models and not cosmetically change old ones, it will be at Basel from the 30 Apr to 5 May 2020.Then it could 5-8 months after or even longer before available at ADs

Springtime. Some ADs will have a Basel release party. The last one I went to was at the large Rolex Boutique near me in april '18. I got to try on the then new Blro and got on the waiting list with @100 other people. I occasionally get an Email from them to come in and buy some diamond jewelry. I walked in there cold previously in Nov.'17 and walked out with a 114060 with a slight discount. Then things changed quickly. AKA >> SS shortage.

The watches are available as soon as announced at Basel. I believe some are sold fairly quickly after that event. When production is ramped up so distribution occurs around the world to ADs is another matter. It can take up to a year for an elite customer at an AD to obtain a new release.

I’m not sure what your intent was with this comment, but speaking condescendingly to someone with a sincere question is immature. Maybe you said it innocently without thought, if so, consider whether you are making this forum better or worse with your comments.

Simple humor was all. OP was asking a question that many will answer. You got way too serious with yours.

And to Kid, the OP, maybe this has already been explained so don’t mean to be redundant, but just so you understand Ian’s 20-29 post was not a personal attack... What PADI posted is true, in the general time table of a Newly-introduced Rolex becoming available for sale, my personal experience has been around six to nine months after they were shown at Baselworld I was able to buy one. But perhaps you are not aware, practically ALL models are extremely difficult to acquire right now, we are talking years on a waiting list for stainless steel sports models. This is forcing a lot of TRF members to purchase at inflated prices from “gray” dealers or do without. It has caused a great deal of frustration, ridicule, and jokes. That’s what Ian was saying in his post, you won’t be able to buy a newly introduced watch for quite a while. We all long for the day when you can walk in to a Rolex store and have the ability to buy any model right then and there, but it hasn’t been the case for a long long time.

I apologize if you already know this situation, I don’t mean to speak demeaningly to you, but make sure you understood no one was making a personal attack, it was just a humors post. Best of luck in your collecting and welcome to TRF!

Doesn't bear thinking about. Perhaps it will knock the hype for the current models down a peg.. At best.

I apologise if my comment came over wrong, I blame it on my dry British humour.
However in the UK the situation due to the weak pound seems to be worse than normal. ADs have virtually nothing in the window although I suspect plenty in the safe available for the high spenders. For a normal person 4 or 5 years waits are quoted.

Historically this has never been the case. In the last few years the first customer examples of Basel release watches have been seen in late May to early June. It seems like the UK and Euro markets have beat the US and other world markets by a week or two.
