Thinking PAM424; thoughts guidance ideas much appreciated!

Panerai people: I would be grateful for your thoughts and guidance. After collecting many other brands for a long time, I think Iíve caught the Panerai bug and am considering pulling the trigger on a PAM424. I Like the California dual and the simplicity and classic look (not looking for a water watch; and the crown guard of other models makes the watch too big for me, so Iím focusing on models without it).

Iíd appreciate any and all thoughts and considerations regarding PAM424 ó or other model as you think may fit the bill.

Thku!!

Itís great that youíve already narrowed your choice to a wire-lugged radiomir. That makes recommendations much more manageable.

If youíre interested in something out of the current collection Iíd look at the following.
424 as you mentioned
610 base w/ 8-day movement
992 8 giorni dial (awesome piece!)

The out of production market has two kings IMO.
232 base tobacco dial
249 original Cali dial

From each group Iíd go 992 and 249.

Enjoy the hunt and keep us posted!

Hugely helpful and thank you! Iíll check out those suggestions!

As you note I really like the look Of the wire lug radiomir, plus it seems to fit my 7.25Ē wrist better.

Appreciate the help!

Size is perfect ( my wrist is 7Ē)
I sold mine like 2 years ago , and I think I used the money to buy a BNIB Datejust to the same seller you are considering buying the Pam 424 ...lol
I am not buying a Pam now but who knows maybe I go for it before the year ends
Good luck

Thks all for the thoughts everyone!

Tried on a 45mm PAM183 today. Seemed big but so sweet . Waiting for my local AD to open to try on PAM424 to test drive 47mm.

Hope all is well.

Joe Thku for the response. That looks so great. Questions: How big is your wrist, and do you find the 424 at 47 mm too big?

The 232 seems like a relative bargain, I have one and love it, at the time I looked at a new 424 but decided to go used and 232

Not sure, but I think about 7.25. I have a bunch of Panerai. 47 mm in the Radiomir wears real nice. Smaller than the 372.

definitely try it on before you buy it if you can.

I think the case size even works for my 6.5" wrist, but its the thickness that gotten me.

its just a little too tall combined with the case size for me.

This was the watch that got me into Panerai. Except I didn’t buy it! Tried it on and desperately wanted it to feel right. I ended up finding that 44mm Luminor was just right.

Great looking watch, big and, the best part about it, quite inexpensive for preowned. Most Panerais, like new cars, take a beating as soon as you drive them off the lot, so to say. Find a virtually new one from a gray market or trusted online dealer.

Yes totally agree. 8k new and 5k gray in good shape.

You own one or another OP 37mm? Thoughts on size?
