That’s consistent with my information, Heard- it was discontinued too. Not sure it broadly trades at a premium though. I believe that‘s isolated speculative pricing. Have seen serious offers that were relatively reasonable, and below the blue.

Just personal preference I guess. The chocolate brown dial works so well with this watch IMHO.

i have owned both. While the brown is more exclusive and the blue is common, I like the blue Overseas more. The sunburst blue of this model is truly one of a kind. The brown also has sunburst effect but is more flat. But if you want it on rubber strap, I would give the edge to the brown dial. The brown strap is better than the blue rubber. The color of the blue rubber doesn't work for me. It's too blue, and better to have it on navy blue. The brown rubber strap color is perfect

The blue is simply amazing! Congrats on the purchase!!! And yes, from what i know, the blues are much easier to find in Europe.. my chrono is supposedly the first blue my local ad has received in a very long time..

Thanks. It’s all about the lighting. Try using the “auto brightness” function on your phone if available ;)

Do VC boutiques in the EU have a policy to sell the “hot items” to local clienteles? I visited AP Paris and they suggest that I reserve through US AD or boutiques.

I waited for 5 months for my blue VCO. Apparently, they will receive only two pieces this year.

Hmmm ... not sure I'd call the blue-dial Overseas "common." You rarely see them in the wild or even for sale on the secondary market. Once in a while, perhaps, but certainly not a lot.

The choice of dial color on this model is subjective, of course, but for me, the blue is by far the most beautiful and unusual, in a way. (Over the last year or so, I was able to see all dial colors at the VC boutique in NYC.) When the light hits the blue dial, there are turquoise highlights that dance around the inner minute track. You can see them here at the 6 and 36 marks. Never seen anything like it on any other watch. Very special.

I've encountered more brown dials in the wild vs the blue. I know of at least 3 people locally with the brown and just 1 person with a blue (dual time) i have yet to meet anyone with a regular or chrono blue.
I think people consider the brown as more "rare" because production of it has ceased.
Both dial colors are beautiful and you can't go wrong with either!

I agree with this so I got the black rubber with the blue dial and it's a lovely combination.

Would love to see a photo of this combo. Can you post one?

I actually like the blue rubber on the blue Overseas. It's not too bright. More like a navy blue. But the black rubber could be nice to mix it up.

Thanks!

Did you just get the extra strap at the boutique? How much do they cost usually?

Got mine from a grey who offered me a choice of blue or black rubber.

I would like to know too what these straps cost from the boutique.

I'd say the leather especially is expensive due to the proprietary strap change system.

No boutique in my country sadly.

What size is your wrist? I’m concerned the three hander is too large for my 6.5

The replacement leather straps are between CHF 440 and 700 depending on configuration (if you configure your own, will be towards the higher end, and if you choose some crazy color might even exceed that range).

I'm at about 6.75 inches. It's a larger watch, but not overly so. The feel of the size is close to the classic 42mm Speedmaster (I realize the case design is very different.) I'd say if you're OK with the size of a Speedy, you'd be fine with the Overseas three-hand.

The bigger Overseas chrono version is a different story. I wanted to love that black-dial Panda chrono, and while it's beautiful, it was just too large and chunky when I tried it on, for what I like anyway.

Beautiful dial. I think the layout of the second time zone is nicely done.

VC makes far fewer watches than most brands to begin with, and the blue Overseas has become a very hot watch, for good reasons. By far, my favorite watch of any offering from the Holy Trinity. There's just something very special about it. The chrono Overseas is nice too, especially the black with white sub-dials, but it's a lot chunkier, and I think you need a big wrist to pull it off comfortably. The three-hand version is smaller and slimmer, but still has a very appealing angular chunkiness to it. And then there's that stunning blue dial ......
I had my deposit returned by a dealer in the UK that said that they had received word from the manufacture that the blue dial 4500v was now out of production and they did not expect to be able to source one. If they can find an old stock one they will give me first call.

Maybe there is still stock for boutiques, but for watch dealer to reach out proactively and return my deposit makes me take the explanation at face value.

I have an AD with a silver dial dual time that I also really like. So I think in the absence of the blue 4500v and with a solid discount to current RRP I will pull the trigger on that this week.

The boutiques are still getting them. I collected mine from the London one today.

No mention of it being discontinued.
