Bond Seamaster - Buy from Boutique? Full Price?
Hey pricing strategists.... I'm assuming the No Time to Die Bond Seamster 300M isn't going to be discounted. it is available, right now, from a boutique. Assuming I decide to pull the trigger, should I bother to track down an AD and to see if the price is fluid or just grab it at full price?
I'm not fully decided yet. Part of me is still thinking about a Blue or White 300M or PO 42mm....but the NTTDie is really pushing all the right buttons. Thoughts? |

Just saw the new Bond Seamaster locally.
I had no interest till I saw it. Much better lookin in person, and LITE as a feather, thought that was really cool. But 10k ??? |

That's the problem. The watch is really stuck in my head, but the price point is off. I'm first on my AD's list for a Kermit - a watch that willl be worth a lot more once I buy it.....Hence the question....

Will paying full price in any way reduce your enjoyment of the watch?

My AD here has told me there is no discount at all on "limited" watches. That includes limited edition and limited availability. The Bond Seamaster falls into the latter as, whilst it's not a "limited edition" it also isn't made in the same quantities as the standard ceramic options so is "limited availability / production".
So you could ask an AD, but don't be surprised if they politely advise its full price or nothing. I tried one on and, price aside, it just didn't do it for me unfortunately. Shame as in pictures it looks great. |

I can't see any discount being offered on these until after the film has been released. I think it's a lovely watch but the price is higher than I am prepared to pay......and the UK had a 6% increase at the beginning of September which makes that even more the case.....

I bought the new Bond Seamaster on the mesh bracelet and paid just slightly less than retail. I think it is a cool watch but not worth msrp or even close. This is a watch that has been held back from widespread release because the movie has been delayed. It is regular production and will be out in huge numbers after the release. Prices will not hold at current levels and I would believe that the pre-owned market will see the watches around 7k. I got out of mine for what I had in it and was pleased not to take a $2000 or more bath on the watch. And that is what it will be or more. I will buy the watch back at 7k or less and be pleased to own it again in the spring.

It's a cool watch. I think if you're interested in wearing it then go ahead and purchase one. I don't recommend speculating on value, especially if the current Rolex professional watch market is the frame of reference.
If you're first in line for a Kermit, then you could flip that and use the profit to purchase the Omega, so in a sense it's a free watch anyhow. |

The new Bond watch is becoming readily available on the secondary market which tells me many are not thrilled with it. It does nothing for me. I would grab a white 300M any day over this and enjoy paying half as much money in the process. |

To the OP, I bought the NATO version and ordered the titanium mesh. Paid $6500 from an AD. |

At round $6,500 ( I'd want the ti mesh - so a bit more would be OK ) seems the right zone for this.... I'm really smitten, but I sort of think an Xmas time purchase date might see a significant drop in the price...

Sounds like 20% discount from an AD which is actually pretty good for this watch. I've seen quite a few list for above MSRP on chrono24.

I hear the Bond watch is one that looks a lot better in person than it does in photos, so i will try to withhold judgement until I hopefully get a chance to see one in the flesh. I like the idea of it, but the patina and bracelet just don't work for me. So you sold the blue and white Seamasters???? Am I reading that right? That white one is fantastic. I have a feeling that one is going to end up in my collection eventually. Sort of waiting to see the upcoming Snoopy before pulling the trigger on anything else. |

It has numbers, but they’re code for something, not LE numbers or anything.

I bought it a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure this is it.

Nice - I tried both NATO and mesh on. Was very surprised by the mesh.
At £7.5k there are others I’d buy. At closer to 5.5 I’d be in and get rid of my BB58 OG. Someone on WUS got his in the U.K. for a ‘massive’ discount apparently. I suspect 15% will be doable from an AD. The problem is that currently they are quite limited supply to the AD’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes - 15/20 with the right AD seems about where I would be. It’s a nice watch at that price IMO. |

Hi all,
I bought the NATO one at the OB with a 15% discount. The 007 Edition, was tall by them, that is not limited since it doesn't have # of # on it. I also order the Mesh bracelet, waiting on that one to arrive. The only AD in my area wasn't expecting the watch to arrive any time soon. If you like it and have the means, just buy it and enjoy. Its my favorite one right now. |

Ditto, I think this has potential to rival the speedy in strap monster-ed-ness. I think I bought 6-8 new ones yesterday so pics will be forthcoming. I wasn’t a fan of pictures and was actually looking to get either the white speedy racing or blue speedy moon phase, but this just screamed at me from the case. The only thing I dislike is the smpc rubber doesn’t fit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was also surprised by the mesh bracelet.
At first it felt kind of stiff, didn't conform much to you wrist. Not sure if it loosens up, up loosens much, but at first I didn't think it was that comfortable. It is also super thin. Not saying what's good or bad in a bracelet, but I dig the big thick meaty bracelets of the Seamaster and Speedmaster This has a much different feel, especially since the watch is lighter than you can imagine (if you haven't put you hands on one) I would probably go leather rally band like a previous poster did, YMMV |

The numbers are related to the Brit military reference : The Broad Arrow on the case back and the dial match with the numbers refer to British military issue. The Omega SM300’s delivered to the British Navy had The MOD code on the case back 0552-923-7697 557-70 (70 was the date of the watch) The Rolex 5517/5513 had the code 0552-923-9697 199 -74 (74 would be date of watch) The 007 62 date reference is likely because the first bond film was released in 1962 In 1962 the MOD was still called “The War Department” interestingly enough. The original milsubs were issued via the Quartermaster or “Q” and were MOD property. Nice historical touch !!! |
