16710 Hunt

Hi all,

As some of you may be aware I'm after a 16710, I came across a really good one but unfortunately it slipped out of my hands, and was sold to someone else.

In my hunt.... I have found the following one, what do you guys think of this? There's about £400 movement on the price...

Thanks x

Looks good, but not sure how attractive is the price on current market

Watch looks nice, correct bracelet and end links. I see it's marked T<25 for Tritium but can't tell from photo's if it is Tritium or could be one of the dials marked for Tritium but using Luminova in the transition. It makes no difference to value either way. Likely to be T Serial but could be U. I'm presuming from photo's it is with original guarantee papers and a box, no tags etc.

With £400 off it is in the current UK dealer range for a nice 16710 with B&P, not a bargain but as you know these are popular and sell. Good luck

Looks nice. A little pricey though.

Pretty nice. Only issues for me would be the rounded chamfers and cracking of lume on hour hand. The bracelet looks almost new. Many collectors prefer the correct year bracelet to the watch (approximately). You can check this with the date code on the inside of the clasp if you want.

Is there a guide to figure out bracelet years to ensure they correspond with the watch?

Google Rolex bracelet codes. These are approximate but pretty close.

Link is below, scroll down a bit to the clasp codes. Like serial numbers this is an approximation as it shows the date the clasp was stamped not necessarily when it was attached to a watch or sold

I'm a sucker for those period-correct serif inserts

OP I'm super pumped for you to get a 16710. Grab that net and catch that beautiful butterfly, pal !

Tbh I am not a fan of the folded end links, perhaps pay a bit more and get one with SELs.

For me, it's the first watch I associated with Rolex and as a boy this is what I've always wanted... The fact that the bezels can be changed is why it's well worth the money IMO.

Uhhh yes, full sets excellent condition. More if unpolished and minty.
