Explorer accuracy is amazing!!

Is my watch just extremely accurate or is this common for a Rolex?

Your watch is clearly not running to Rolex advertised spec of -2+2 seconds a day.

It is the most accurate automatic watch I have ever owned. Beats my old omega seamaster by a second a day.

Mine is insanely accurate as well. I tend to wear it for maybe a week then rotate to something else and it runs down, but during the week I wear it it doesn't lose or gain anything...like dead on atomic time OK maybe a second's deviation...remarkable. My GMT LN gains maybe 5 sec in the same week, still excellent.

Ha ha yes I was doing the rounding from 0.09 and I blame my phone for the 0.01. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it

I have an explorer II (216570) and the accuracy is amazing. Since August of 2018 mine has averaged +0.1 s/d. I've discovered that you can regulate the watch depending on which orientation you leave it in over night. I find this sort of stuff very interesting. Mine will gain about a second if left in the '9 up' position (crown down) and will lose about .3 seconds if I leave it in the '12 up' position. Knowing this I do three nights 12 up and then a night 9 up and I'm basically back to zero deviation. I'm using WatchCheck on android to keep track of it all.

I would also add that there are lots of comments about the case size on the 216570. I find this watch basically unnoticeable on the wrist. It seems to have a very low profile and even on my smaller wrists I think it wears small.

I set my 40 year old 1016 on Feb 9th and wearing it 13 days straight , it is still spot on to the second. I normally wear a gmt master circa 1985 that was returned from RSC Ny in December after a full service. It still gains 4 or 5 secs a day and sometimes 6.
