Appreciating Rolex ownership

As of late, every night before bed I put the only watch I own on my nightstand and forget about it. After about 7 months of ownership it’s become less of an exciting piece of art to me and more of an accessory to my daily life.

I often forget to appreciate the things I’ve worked for and as a result find myself looking for the next “best thing” especially considering that there are better options out there, objectively speaking.

I snapped a few rudimentary pictures of the watch I wear daily as I’ve come to really appreciate Rolex ownership and the personal experience that comes with it.

I’m sure some of you can relate and I’m curious to hear your perspectives as well!

I love the way that Jubilee bracelet clasps in the back, absolutely beautiful. I am currently in the process of purchasing my first Rolex, the new Air King 116900 (I know some hate it for its quirkiness, but I love it for the same reason). I have always loved and longed for a Rolex, and more specifically a collection of Rolexes. Hopefully I will soon be starting that path. I love their craftsmanship, design, marketing, and basically everything they represent. I have always admired the precision and technical marvel that luxury watchmakers are able to place in such a small package. Taking time to reflect on one's achievements and rewards we permit ourselves along the way is an important pleasure in life. Glad to hear your trying to take the time to reflect and enjoy. Cheers!

Look at it like steps or climbing up a hill. You have elevated yourself to that level through dedication and work. No need to appreciate the newly found view forever, nobody does that. But the growth and achievement remain and become a part of you. Now press on!

The great thing with a Rolex, is it “just works”, it will work as well in 40 years as it does now, and I feel it is especially relevant in a world where everything it seems has to be upgraded every couple of years and battery dependent. It nice to have something that simply works, and will keep working forever as long as you wear it. A little bit of magic.

Gorgeous. Know that you are wearing achievement, and an art piece that is a true mechanical wonder. Enjoy.

I agree. I recently bought my first rolex. But sadly I am going to have to part with it. I am in the middle of a house renovation and I need to free up some capital.

The one thing I have learned is that I love this watch and brand, the feel, the wrist presence those little moments when it catches someone's eye.

I will be back Rolex, as soon as I can!

Buy a watch that is so expensive that it ''hurts'' you than you will appreciate it the best on the long run.. In my opinion there are no short cut solutions for this, what can you afford? And what can you easily afford are 2 different things. It would be horrible to be able to buy ''just everything a man can have'' you will never feel that fulfilled enjoyment of a aquisition than anymore… Offcourse it would be different for anyone but i never purchased items of the price my Rolexes costs, and i know the get bored of something easily feeling but it still didnt happen on my watches.. I absolutely adore them!
