Roman Numerals falling off Omega Constellation
Hello,
So the other day I accidentally fell asleep with my Omega on, something I usually don't do, and to my surprise when I woke up I noticed 2 of the roman numerals on the bezel came off. My dad has the same model in SS and I noticed his was missing the top part of "I". Does anyone know why this happens? Is there something I can get the black replaced with so it doesn't happen again? I don't see the point in paying a watch maker to fix it if it will just happen again. Thanks for any advice. |

It should be enamel paint so you can have someone touch it up for you. I dont see how sleeping with it for one night would cause that. You sure it wasn't from over time use and you just realized?

I'm 100% sure it happened overnight while I slept with no doubt. The watch is from around the 80's so perhaps the paint dried up badly? Thanks for the info.

It's a very simple process to get the enamel paint back on the bezel. A competent watchmaker should be able to take care of that issue. Gluck and enjoy!

Update: I took it to Toronto's Omega repair center and they said they don't fix the bezels anymore and will only replace them. I guess my only other choice is to take it to an independent watch maker.

That's uhh weird. I re-enameled the roman numerals on my boss' wife constellation in a couple of minutes. Please find a watch maker that will do this sort of work. It literally takes no time at all and just a tiny bottle of enamel paint, a fine hobby brush, a towel and some enamel paint remover (alcohol similar to nail polish) and at most 10 minutes...
