Trotters on Bethnal Green road can tell you if it's real or not.
Seriously though, why would you buy a $4K watch off someone on Instagram ? Any idiot can get followers, it's meaningless.

Wow, sorry about this situation, OP. For the money you paid you could pretty much have had a nice new watch from an authorized dealer. Next time perhaps...

Sadly, IG followers mean nothing - not only can they just be bought, but even genuine followers might just be there to look at the photos. I'm no expert, but this sadly does smell like a scam :(

Since you run an "online business" you should be able to research an independent watchmaker that runs a brick and mortar watch repair/service business. Ask them if they have a Rolex Parts Account, and question their experience servicing Rolex watches. Then have them 1. authenticate the watch as a real Rolex. 2. Ask them how much $$ to service the watch because it probably has never been serviced. 3. ask them how much to put a diamond in the gaping hole. Find some kind mentor that has experience with Rolex watches, that will assist you in any further purchases. Lastly, if everything works out in your favor, get rid of that mess, and buy a stainless steel DJ36 from a trusted seller that you meet face to face and have anything you buy blessed by a Rolex AD as real.

If the dealer will take it back, I'd go that route and walk away, take the lesson learned and go find a watch that's not messed up with aftermarket tat like that particular example is.

That watch is trouble you dont need in your life.

I dont think you can just take it to a rolex store here in london and make them check it. Its a datejust 36mm in steel with an oyster bracelet, im not sure if rolex even make these watches, I think its originally on a jubilee bracelet and I think hes added the bracelet of another rolex?

correct me if im wrong im no expert
The first thing to do is take it to an independent, respected, watchmaker and have it checked out.

Don't be overly worried at this point. You most probably have a legitimate watch with an aftermarket dial and bezel. It happens. Yes brushed and polished centre link oyster bracelets were available with 36mm Datejusts.

From your pics, the case and endlinks look good. The dial is terrible but you know its aftermarket.

Because its aftermarket, the work will not have been done by an authorised Rolex agency, and possibly also why its running +30s per day. It may also have become magnetised which will make it run fast.

Assuming its real, get an original dial for it and get that bezel fixed. Or sell it for the stones and get an original Rolex smooth or fluted bezel on it and you'll have a really nice watch.

The good news its consistently fast and may just need a proper regulation.

Can you post a link to the dealer's IG account?

Bring it in and have it looked at by Rolex service center. Have them take it back to original specs, you don't want a Frankenstein Rolex even if it means replacing the aftermarket bezel. You could have the diamonds set into something else.

Saw the picture, I dont think RSC will work on an aftermarket watch like that, but I could get wrong.

My guess your only recourse is with the Seller and your own reputable watch repair shop.
Yes I did get a reciept for the job

Is that one authentic? I would get that checked at an RSC. If the diamond falls off, that is unfortunately your fault as the seller has no impact on the daily use (different story for a brand new Rolex as it's covered by warranty... in most cases).

I doubt it. This one is still in the case at Marc dailies in grapevine mall Texas. At 30k way overpriced my wife opted for the root beer and Daytona now

For starters, the seconds hand is genuine
From my experience, this is a very good start

The dial is aftermarket: the dial's coronet has a small mouth, along with other typography issues.

My best advice: bring it to RSC to restore it back to its stock condition.

Have I been scammed?

I don’t agree with taking it to the RSC just to learn how many parts are non-Rolex. They wouldn’t regulate it in its current condition anyway. There is also a chance that the movement is aftermarket, too.

Any competent watchmaker can open the back to see if there is a genuine Rolex movement inside.

Regulation to a tolerable accuracy should be possible - but what you have is a long road ahead if you want it to be all correct. Even the bracelet is aftermarket.
