Bought a Sub from TRF member aftershok57. Please help!

Hey. I've been hanging around here for ages but mostly as a lurker. I just bought a sub on eBay from TRF member aftershok57. Unfortunately it turned out to be a pretty obvious fake. I should have known from the pictures but somehow I missed it. I want to believe the best about all people and my assumption is that his dealer ripped him off. Here are HIS pics to peruse. I hope that if you guys let him know its authenticity, he'll give me my money back without further issue.

Below, are my pics of the watch as received.

Thanks for any help. I hope the matter can be resolved quickly.

You are protected on Ebay... why not open a case?
The Ebay user could just pretend to be someone from here.

godawful fake, but no one needs to point that out. The pictures were also of an obviously fake watch as well so you should have done your due diligence. Do not waste your time trying to "prove" anything to the seller, go through paypal and get your money back.

I opened a case but I first need to request a return and wait three days for eBay to step in.

Wow. That's a pretty obvious fake. Hopefully he'll do the right thing and refund you before eBay has to step in. He can lose his eBay account and ability to use PayPal.

OK somethings fishy. The watch sells 2/5 for $7420. On 2/6 it gets relisted and then the listing is ended early by the seller same day. Where does your purchase fit in? Did you do a deal off Ebay to save a few $$?

That seller has no feedback in over a year and no watch related sales. Maybe this account was hijacked and the username changed to someone on TRF to give sale legitimacy. I would not be surprised if the real 'aftershok57' knows nothing about this watch.

I'd be contacting the credit card company asap.

The transaction was thankfully through eBay but eBay removed the listing after purchase.

Thats lucky for you. Have you reached out to aftershok57 through TRF? You could well be dealing with one and the same person. Both indicate location as El Paso TX.

I'm as certain as can be based on the information I have that it's the same person. I prefer that all my communication with him be on record through eBay.

You are totally covered. eBay is great for buyers. I can’t see you having a single issue getting your money back. It may take a little bit but you will get it.

On the next one, find a friend that can check things like this. It’s a horrendous fake with at least 4-5 clear indicators. No biggie, your cash is wrapped up for maybe a few weeks but you get it back. That’s more than a lot of people can say when buying fakes.

He's not asking for an opinion on whether it's fake- he's asking for help with the scum bag seller. If anyone here knows this guy, blow him up.

but yeah- the serial number alone should have been a tip-off.

I can help, if he has any problem with eBay, but I do not think he will.
OP: PM me if you do

eBay would cover this. Although this situation is stressful, you don't need to worry about it.

Help a rookie out. What are the obvious signs and indicators you can tell from the pictures.

I was scared to death to buy one on line. I knew I didn't know enough to avoid being scammed, so I went with a known retailer, DavidSW.

I'd just like to learn a little and I am curious what you guys picked up on from the pics.

F437091 is a commonly used fake serial.

Just by looking at it it can tell it’s a fake let alone the serial number. It’s unfortunate things like this happens but fortunately you are covered by eBay protection.

When buying on eBay you have to be very careful and also do your homework on the watch before moving forward.

Thankfully I did pay via PayPal. I was hoping for better from aftershok57 though. It's been only silence.
