Thanks for chiming in. I couldn't remember who told us this, so I could never find the post. It's useful not only from the standpoint of the BLRO, but also because it confirms what many of us have said for years, which is that a model's presence on the website is not definitive evidence it has not been discontinued. I've bookmarked it for future reference.

He said, "it cannot be ordered anymore. It's still on the website to assist in selling for any dealers that still hold inventory". So, I'll take that as confirmation it's discontinued.

Agreed. PM watches aren’t that hard to find. If they release a WG coke on an oyster, or (whatever floats your boat) would you regret pulling the trigger now? I know I would. It’s a month out, let’s see what happens.

I’d get the sub only because of the glidelock adjustment feature. Both are heavier watches and being able to micro adjust more than just the easy link is a plus.
Also, the smurf has been around awhile so it is closer to retirement/update.

Great collection. I can’t tell, is the GMT the blue dial version.

And as the standard TRF response goes “get both”.

Didn’t think about it that way. I really love the watch and I’m glad I bought it. Something about the shine, stealth and heft of WG sport watches. I really don’t think I will regret buying it. But let’s see what comes out next month. If I like another one than I hope I could afford it or just save and pull the trigger when I’m financially ready. My point an earlier comment, the crazy price and the wait on the SS jubilee is just crazy and I personally can’t justify the crazy premium

You bought a winner for sure! Slippery slope though, there’s nothing like a PM watch on your wrist. It really crushes SS, IMHO. Congrats and enjoy!

How does white gold in real life differ from ss in terms of appearance?

That is probably it. May be with a jubilee and true blue color instead of purple

There is a warmer hue to it, easily to be seen when side by side.
The polished center links of the bracelet which the SS version does not have give it a nice touch of bling.
Very hefty feel when wearing it which I like very much

As requested a couple of more photos of the 116619 WG Sub, I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on this beauty myself.

To tell the truth the photos do not do it justice.

It doesn’t matter really. My AD told me he can’t order it any longer at least for now. I waited for about 5 months. I think it is a hype. Just give it few weeks once they confirm the watch is not dicontiued gray and AD will release inventory and the price will go down.

it's discontinued. Did Rolex issue a press release announcing it? no

In its current form with the current movement, it's gone. It appears the blue dial was nothing more than something to differentiate it from the SS version while the existing stock was sold off.

I do expect it to come back with a new movement and reference number though. Just a feeling, no actual knowledge.
