Best Tool Watch Rolex has ever made?

I was curious what you guys have think is the actual best tool watch Rolex has ever made? I'm not talking about specific uses for a professional diver or a scientist. I mean the best all around tool watch for actual hard use.

Scenario I think of is an "adventure island" idea where the watch will be worn in various activities whether it is climbing a mountain, hiking, swimming, hunting, etc... Also, factor in use for actual daily life as well.

Assume any watch you pick is in brand new condition and working as fully intended out of the factory so you hardcore 4 digit fans don't have to worry about any age issues or lume not performing.

I'm going to go with ]

Tough as nails construction, 100m of water resistance (conservative rating), GMT hand for added functionality, big contrasting legible dial and hands with tons of lume, and date function for whatever that is worth. You have the shock absorbers as well.

I'd say the Exp II as well, but the 16570 for its less intrusive size. I'm biased as I wear one everyday, but in my eyes it's the perfect all around watch.

I might have to go with the SubC ND. Simpler design with less complications, ceramic bezel is more scratch resistant, triplock crown. It's pretty bullet proof.

It has to be the pre C GMT - Multiple time zones + movable bezel arrow for timing stuff. Quick change throwaway (at one point) inserts and bracelets. How much more tooly can you get than that?

Hard to argue that. It's definitely high up there. Timing bezel is also very useful but there are definitely benefits and negatives to a moving and fixed bezel.

Glidelock is also fantastic, not just from a comfort standpoint but a functional one as well. You can adjust the watch to fit over a jacket so you can read the time easily. Very useful in harsh climates and scenarios where pulling up your sleeve is just not an option.

It would have to be the 116600 (SD4k) for me. Solid as a rock

Totally agree, I have one on right now Under the radar, mutliple timezones, super comfortable, wears low on the wrist and it has a date. I love it in every way.

From the current lineup, it is still no-date sub, Exp II right behind it.

I'd go 16570 also. Though something with a rotating bezel would be nice for timing things.

SHTF or EOTWASKI scenarios, in this order:

1. SubC
2. Explorer II
3. GMT

My 16570 has the most wrist time in my collection, I am not sure it is Rolex's best tool watch but it certainly is my best tool watch.
