It’s a DateJust. Says it right on the dial.

Man, that is beat up. Does it work?

The dislodged diamond marker from the 2 o'clock position currently sitting between the hands says 'probably not.'

Hopefully the loan wasn't worth much.

Im not sure I would go that far just yet. The dial may be fake but that doesnt mean the rest of the watch is.
I would like to see more photos to confirm before I just say the whole thing is Fake.

I'm kinda bad at this, but there is a rolex crown etched on glass at 6o'clock. That tiny detail kinda suggest it's a real deal.

Better way to identify?
Of course there is, take it to a local AD. They should be able to confirm it’s garbage.
Doubt you can get a cup of coffee for it.

It is very badly corroded. I’m on the fence if it’s genuine or not. Would need to see the movement or the engravings between the lugs

The watch is heavily corroded because it is plated.
It is a poor quality fake.

Why?

You took this as collateral for what a $2.00 loan?

Not believing this story.

Yes, it wasn’t as clear on the phone but then I saw them on the computer screen and it’s an obvious fake.

It's buried beneath the corroded plating. Squint hard and tell yourself it's there. You'll see it.

I'd actually like to see the "etched" Rolex crown in the crystal, myself.

Can anyone tell me this rolex model?

It appears you have yourself a Real Genuine Fake Rolex. IMHO

Take it to a Watch shop and ask then to authenticate it. Please come back and let us know what you find out. Good Luck!

It was a collateral long time ago by someone to my late father, we did not intend to take but insisted by that someone.

Btw anyone can explain the Rolex crown etched on the glass, counterfeit can produces such detail?

Since Rolex Watch Cases ar either Gold, Platinum or Stainless Steel, ANY corrosion on exposed surfaces like this Screams FAKE.

Hands do not look right at all.

The case and bezel look so bad they might be cast metal? Just wondering.
