Dog ate my brand new YM
I purchased a brand new yachtmaster about three weeks ago and my dog bit it while playing. Should I just consider this character or should I send it out for repair? The RSC is pretty sure they can re surface the bezel since they are only superficial scratches but I am concerned polishing the bezel this quickly because I don't think it can be polished too many times before the numbers start rounding at the corners.

I would get it fixed right away. Really depends on how much it bothers you.
Is that part of the bezel platinum? Kinda of surprising that a dog could chew into it that badly. |

If it bothers you, fix it. Otherwise, RSC will take care of it during service in a few years.

not only would i leave it for now , when it comes time for service you may not want those marks gone ! not sure how old your dog is but if i had an opportunity to be reminded of my best friend every time i looked down at my wrist i would be very happy about that . actually gives me a good idea , i'm going to go let my dogs chew on my watches ! thanx for the idea ! :)

For some reason they are attracted to it. Now if you get a lab, only they do is test resistance to slobber.

Character building, leave it there are more to come unless you never plan on wearing it again if you get it polished out.

If it bothers you it's called damage so get it fixed. If it doesn't bother you it's character then leave it alone.

If the watch is in a good working condition I would keep it the way it is until the next service in about 5 years.

Dog ate my brand new YM
I say give it a couple weeks / months and see how you feel about it then. If it's still bugging you then get it fixed. Typically the scratches always hurt a lot more the first few days but as time goes on the concern about them fades away. That's how it is for me at least.
By the way that is an absolutely beautiful watch! |

Just give the dog the Rolex and get a new one. I think the watch will look very well on a dog collar.

I have had some nicks caused by my friend's Weimaraner... all good. it's really up to you, some people can live with this stuff and others can't. either is totally fine! |

My dog's tooth put a big scratch on the bracelet of my first Rolex a couple weeks after I bought it new. It sucked to look at for a while, but now it's just part of the patina of the watch and will always make me think of him. I say leave it for service time

Come on, don't be silly, you'll have another scratch soon enough - it is a sport watch. Enjoy the timepiece. Is the dog OK?
