Went on an adventure in Chinatown NYC today

Came to Manhattan for a holiday weekend with my better half. Met a close friends sales associate at WOS and had a wonderful time in there chatting and checking out some watches. No Rolex for sale as to be expected but got a great contact for future additions. Today we wound up in Chinatown. First time and what an experience. As soon as we walked out of the subway got bombarded with people selling fakes. Watches and bags. Seeing a back alley RM deal go down was a highlight. Walked by a couple jewelry shops and there was some subs and Batman’s. Went into one and just out of curiosity I asked if they had a Kermit. I came up here to express interest at WOS for one. This shop in Chinatown had one for $31k!!!! I giggled and left. I didn’t even bother asking what the prices for the couple others they had in fear that I might laugh too hard. Throughly enjoyed the experience though. I’ll just wait for that Kermit call to come in and have another reason to fly back up.

16610LV ("50th Anniversary Kermit") or 126610LV (more recent "Starbucks Kermit")?

No surprise there. Chinatown is a good / fun experience though. Great food too.

Yes it was the new 12 series. I know some people call it the “Starbucks” but since we still call the ceramic gmt a Pepsi then I like to keep the traditional Kermit name.

Not sure what the name of the place I ate at was called but it was amazing! It was down from the Buddhist temple on the left. A little side street with all kinds of lanterns hanging up in the street. Quite the place

OP is probably waiting for the new ceramic green bezel sub at retail from an AD. Good luck to him and hope it arrives soon.

And now all I can think about are the soup dumplings from Joe's Shanghai. Hope that place is still around after the last couple of years

I grew-up occasionally playing in the streets there. Later I took dates there for dumplings and pork chop soup. It used to be far smaller as an area. I always have enjoyed the twisty street with small shops and native foods. One of the last times I saw my Dad alive I took him into Chinatown and we got a parking ticket there. It will alway lume large in my memory. Glad you got to experience it.

I love walking around Chinatown, being sold a Chinese fake from an Indian “made in Switzerland” on US soil. Brings out the best in humanity.

There's a reputable jeweler who happens to be a gray market dealer on Canal/Elizabeth (next to the 5th precinct) that has tons of Rolex for sale. I was shocked to see all their subs, Daytonas, and DJ on display at the window. Even more surprising, they even have a Nautilus there. Before you say, "oh it's Chinatown. It's probably fake ..", I can vouch that it's not.

I've posted on here asking why they are still available. Common answer that I got was, they were probably overpriced...

I honestly don't know if that's true. As I never cared to go in and ask... But tons of Rolex are to be had. Guessing if th price is right.

My intro to XLB! Came with busting of hot soup down my chin and a scalded tongue, but will always remain the best, especially with all the DTF's everywhere.
