What models are you referring to? Per my understanding, the technicians in Patek Singapore can service a simple 3 hander to a perpetual calendar locally. Even if there is a need to send a special piece to Geneva for servicing, why does it needs to go to Singapore first?

Before putting into service i would email to patek, send mu certificate to check is this stolen goods or not. Because i buy preowned, dont know the history behind it. Other wise patek will seized the watch.

Yes they service in Singapore, and you may call them to ask about the time duration. It should be less than the 10-12 weeks of an AC.

Besides allocating majority of the watchmakers to new watches, why is there a over all of shortage of watchmakers? Because it doesn't pay to be a watchmaker.

The reality is it's a manual labor job and is paid like one so that is why young generation don't want to get into it.

Depending on whether you include the last service at age 80, Patek will have your watch anywhere from 8.75 to 10 percent of your lifetime with the watch. OUCH!

Now, if it takes even longer for them to service a grand complication than 6 months, say perhaps 1 year, then you are talking around 20 percent of your lifetime with the watch.

My new philosophy is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
good philioshpy

Buy 2 of everything. Then never an issue. That’s my 5167A move.
