Possible to put Glidelock on another model.
I am enamored with my sub 41. It is the first Sub I have ever owned and is perfect (IMHO) in many respects. One thing I am enamored with is the glidelock. My wrist must be responding to UV radiation from the sun or something because I find myself adjusting the glide a dozen times a day. With my old watches, I had the 5 mm extension, which was a nice feature and I used it regularly as well, but I love the 2 mm adjustments the Sub offers. I wish Rolex offered it on every model but moving on, go with me for a minute down fantasy land.
There is a RUMOR (take it for what it is worth) that the 50th anniversary Explorer will adopt the same 41 case as the sub, and put in a 3285 movement; (there are several other rumors about a green hand, ceramic bezel etc. But let’s just stick with the case). IF that turns out to be true, would it be possible to put a glidelock on that setup? What I would REALLY like is a GMT, with the same dimensions as my current sub, but I doubt that would happen for several years if ever. Hypothetically speaking, IF the EX II adopts the same case, would it be possible to install the glidelock? |

The Glidelock is just a specialized Rolex clasp, and should be able to fit any Rolex bracelet with the same width as the Sub 41 bracelet. So, a qualified yes.

Hopefully it’s as simple as swapping the two links on each side of the clasp. Unless you have both watches, it may be challenging to source one given how new they are.

Thanks for the responses, it won’t matter if the 41 Explorer turns out to be incorrect, but I am hopeful.

I'm wondering if you go to RSC saying you've lost your bracelet if they'll sell you a new one so you can have another set?

I think much would depend on the end link design and the hole location within the lugs.
I truly hope the new Explorer 2 comes right out of the box with a mini glidelock and a trip lock crown ... sign me up |

Glidelock will definitely NOT fit a Skydweller.

Well you see I spend a lot of time on TRF so I bought a green rubber band and tucked away the bracelet in my safe.. but it grew legs and I can't find it.
I decided that green rubber doesn't fit my wardrobe very well so I'd like to purchase another bracelet. Say what? how much? |
