I guess there's a clue in the name of the club! :)

At least it was nice that they did the work whilst closed and without disrupting the playing season.

I'm playing Royal St Georges on Tuesday and I'm fully ready to get my ass kicked. I just found out that I don't get any extra shots there than I do at my home course, there's something very 'wrong' with the new handicap system :(

I look forward to a nice day out in the summer with you guys, or maybe a few days out.

Yes there is plenty of water about - 9 of the holes have water as a factor to varying degrees but some only lightly so.

Royal St Georges and you are not getting extra shots?? Is your home club Carnastie

I don't have a lot of choice in my local area, but play at a Mackenzie course. Our slope is 127, the 'weekday' tees at RSG are 129, so no extra shots :( I doubt many people get to play the championship tees which are 138 slope though.

Used to be a member there and good to see the changes the new owner wanted have bedded in well.

Yep these are the two lakes (big ponds?) they created whilst everyone was in lockdown. With a little bridge to walk across as you go down the 1st hole. The ground naturally dipped down in that area so they utilised the existing contours.

You were a member of the club and similarly other members also feel a little negative about such a dramatic change. The majority including me like it however. The little bridge is tastefully done and it doesn't look OTT. Time will tell how it beds in.

Fair enough and I hope you enjoy your golf this year post lockdown.

Incredible, I’ve played in a few of those tournaments and they are amazing and you’ll no doubt meet some great people who also love AP.

Greg…you are have a heck of a week!

I used to play a lot years ago when I lived in Denver and was in Scottsdale a couple times a year. Since moving to the mountains and having two young kids…I just don’t get out and play much. Our season is too short to join a club and there are so many other things to do. That said, I have the opportunity to play the Roaring Fork Club regularly if I wanted to (Nicklaus course) and am thinking about starting up again next summer.

We shall see.
