Question for our watchmakers

When you are in school are you taught to leave a notation on the inside of the case back as to when a service has been preformed ?

At the SAWTA schools you are not taught to do this. However, it is very traditional and the AWCI will still issue a case mark to members who request one.

Brand service centers still scribe on various watch components.

Why do you ask?

I don't remember, but I believe it was encouraged. I've never been "given" a case mark. I just use my initials VC.

RSC's used to write case marks with a scribe. Then, they went to markers. Then, they decided that the marker residue caused damage.

Are you at a US RSC?
