Icon5 Taking care of leather straps....tips? products?

do any of you do something in particular to maintain your leather straps?

maybe use a particular product?

for example, i found the following product, and wasn't sure if it's worthwhile.

"Our exclusive super refined 100% Beeswax formula will naturally restore & beautify all of your fine & exotic leathers & woods without the use of man made waxes or harmful chemicals that can actually dry and discolor. This special product has been used for hundreds of years to waterproof & moisturize porous fibers, restoring the natural oils that are lost with age.
Simply rub the natural Beeswax with your fingertip and massage your leather watch band or wallet back to life. Recommended for use on all leathers including alligator, crocodile, shark skin. Can stand alone or be buffed to a beautiful finish. Try our extra large size for bigger items!
"

thanks!

I have some baseball glove oil and some mink oil that help keep leather in good shape and pliable. Some of these products can darken lighter leathers so use with care!

Straps last a lot longer when used with a deployant instead of a buckle.

Off the top of my head, that name of the lotion I use is called "Boot Sauce Conditioner" from Timberland. Its suitable for strap leather too... and appeared to work quite well. I had a French vintage strap from Ted Su that was drying up and cracking.

I talked to an upholsterer about my leather seats and how to keep them looking good and supple (convertible). He told me to use Johnson’s Baby Oil. It moisturizes and smells good. I have used it on black straps with good results. jmho

mink oil is basically fat rendered from the mink pelts during the tanning process. It is greasy to the touch, but leather soaks it up pretty well. It does darken leather

Lexol cleaner and conditioner is perfect for leather straps, belts, shoes and car seats too. It works fantastic on leather, just be careful on lighter color leather as it may darken it.

Regards.

Veraet watch band rubber and leather care. Not at all greasy and won't darken leather.

Any good leather cleaner/conditioner should work. I use Allen Edmonds conditioner. Lexol also works well
