Suspicious buyer, how to check member?

Received a suspicious pm from a member looking to buy a watch I have listed that has a couple of posts a few years ago, but nothing recent. Only wants to contact through email outside of the pm system, no calls and only wants shipping to Chicago; I offered to do a face to face meeting since I am there every other week - but declined.

99% certain its a scam / hijacked account. How can I alert mods? Don't know if it's appropriate to "name names" of the user account or email provided.

Thanks

Yeah I agree, too many red flags. Open the PM and click on the red triangle in the top right hand corner to report to mods although I'm sure they'll also see this post.

Well done.

Got a Pm from what I assume was the same guy. The way the message was written it seemed the writer didn't have a particularly good or hell even half decent command of English.

Nothing wrong with that; we're an international forum. There are plenty of crooks out there speaking perfect English.

Yep didn’t mean it in that way rather if you look at the accounts old post and the grammar used it makes it easy to tell it can’t be the same person

Von170 is the name. The language in the message I got also talked about only using email and shipping to Chicago so I assume it’s the same person OP was talking about.

Nigerian fraudster. He sent me an email with a link that redirects to hxxp://sprn.co.uk/rolex/Rolex%20Forums.htm, which is a TRF phishing link. The domain is registered in Nigeria. Email address he was using: sdtomny@gmail.com.

Be careful

How is this guy still sending PM's if he's been banned for 2 days?

He’s obtained members emails and is emailing them or PMing from an account (s) that he’s hacked because a member has opened his link.
