New member, need opinions with Rolex I just purchased.
Hello all, I'm nick & am 33 from Long Island. I just purchased my first Rolex, a 36 mm DateJust ( and yes that's an aftermarket jubilee band, but am hoping to get a SS jubilee in the future).
My problem is that I've worn a bigger watch for years and as soon as I put this DJ on, right away I said to myself "Wow this is so small & and the band is so thin, too!" I'm 6'2" and 180 pounds with average build and my wrist is about 7.5 inches. Is it just me and all in my head that the watch looks so small? I'm a rookie at this and felt I should come here and get honest opinions. I've read some threads on here already, specific ones asking about if 36mm is too small or not. It may just all be in my head, I know. Ugh. All opinions would help, and I greatly appreciate it! Thanks! Here are some pictures: |

If you get used to wearing a pie-plate on your wrist, when you return to something normal it may be a shock to your psyche.. Others though, do not know or see that you used to wear that-pie plate.

Welcome. The DJ 36 is a classic watch and yes it wears small if you are used to wearing something bigger. It is all about getting use to what you are wearing. Give it some time and it will work.

Welcome Nick.
Did you try it on before buying? You might want to have a look at the DJ41 or if you can find a DJ2 which wears the largest of all three. I agree, and think it looks a bit small on your wrist, but as mentioned, it all comes down to personal preference. |

Great choice for first purchase. I’m 6’4 and 225 and wear a 1601 on a black alligator strap. If you like it, don’t worry what others think.
Congrats! |

I have 30 days to decide if I want to keep it and as I’m wearing t today, I find that it really isn’t that bad; just something have to get used to, like you said. I find it to now be somewhat “classy”

Thank you all for the warm welcomes.
I think maybe I’m a little not sure about the watch is maybe because the band is so thin...I wouldn’t be able to get a wider band on this watch, right? |

To big to small just right
Watch looks great, nice find
and with the stock jubilee it would fit and feel even smaller. That being said, I think you just need to give It a little time. |

Really? So I should just stick with the jubilee I have on it now? I figured the original jubilee bracelet would have maybe done the opposite. Definitely good to know.

Thank you for your input! Starting to really like this watch. Not going to lie, I am searching for a 41mm DJ because I feel like I could wear that one more often, as the DJ I have now I feel like I could only wear when I’m at work or going to a wedding, for example. So indecisive I am!

I hear you on that! If your gut is telling you to go for the 41 you should! I’ve been there before and even if costs you a little more in the end.. you will ultimately be happier.

If I was you I would definitely go for a DJ41. In this day and age 36mm is very small for a Gents watch.
