Steel skydweller conversion to leather strap

Was wondering if anyone has some insight as to whether it is possible to convert the steel skydweller that was recently released to a leather strap like the gold versions had? This would be great for me as I prefer the look of this model on leather and this would clearly save some money if it was possible to do on the steel model. Thank you to all in advance!

Yes but there may be a gap between your lugs/case. rolex watches that come on leather have a small metal bridge between the lugs which fills the gap (making you unable to attach a bracelet to the case though). The bracelet models don't have the bridge- so you have more freedom to change straps if you can live with the possibility of a gap. Hope this helps!

I think it looks better on bracelet, on leather it is a bit top heavy and unbalanced.

I'd keep it on bracelet.

I would assume it would be possible with an aftermarket strap. Are you asking if an AD would put on the leather strap from the gold model and cut you a deal? I don't think that's likely.

I've heard rumors of an AD selling a watch without the bracelet for a discount, but i'm sure that's not really supposed to be done and they'd likely get in trouble with corporate if they knew.

I tried on the white gold SKy D on leather, and while I did find it a little too top heavy, I rather liked it. The SS case on leather will obviously be much lighter and better balanced!

You will have to buy an end link add on to plug the gap in between but I think bracelet is nicer than any leather strap regardless

The SkyDweller looks much better on an oyster bracelet IMO. You can switch to a strap if you like though.

Wow that skyD on leather really looks good!
Its made me want to buy a SS Skyd and put it on a leather strap!
Can it be done? And has anyone on here done so??
Love watches on leather but also good to have the bracelet.
Thats lovely though...
