What is the wait time for a Daytona 116500LN?

I would like to pick up a black face Daytona 116500LN ceramic bezel in either the USA or the UK from an AD at MSRP? Can anyone tell me the approximate wait times in the UK or the USA? I am not on a list yet. Thank you.

The last I heard it was still only about one decade. Good Luck.

Really is it still taking 3 years? What about in the UK?

I've read a few threads and people have walked into some ADs and picked them up, I got a white one by walking in, it was an ordeal to buy it, but now want a black dial version.

It depends.

It depends on how much you want it - if cost is not an issue, for example, one can source one from gray sellers.

It depends on where you are - in large cities with long lists, it could take many years to get one - long enough that you may as well not bother. I was in London last week, and of the three ADs I went to see how long it would take to get a GMT BLNR ...the first had a 3 year waiting list, the second mentioned they weren’t taking lists any more, but if they were you’d have to be a customer for ten years (or buy GBP40,000 of watches), and the third claimed it was discontinued. I have a BLNR but was curious just how bad London was when it came to SS professional Rolex models. The Ceramic Daytona is harder (much harder) to get than the GMT BLNR, Submariner LVc, Seadweller 43, SkyDweller SS (I saw a person buying a white SS SeaDweller at one of the ADs I visited in London), or any other hard-to-get SS Rolexes.

It depends on how blessed/lucky you are. Some people are just blessed enough to walk into a store and get one ...although that is just about as common as hens’ teeth.

It depends on whether you are a big whale with a deep and expensive history with an AD, where they will literally be able to get you rare pieces at the snap of your fingers.

It depends, but what is standard is that it’s the hardest ‘normal’ Rolex to get at an AD. There’s a huge overhang of demand to supply for all SS Rolexes, with this demand being higher for pieces like the LVc and the BLNR, and getting downright discouraging for the SS Ceramic Daytona.

So did you ask the AD where you got your first one?

Welcome aboard. I’d start making calls to ADs within a reasonable travelling radius (ones where you can travel to same day).

If one on them has one, be prepared to travel immediately and pay in full.

Good luck

UK, its not happening before its discontinued. Unless they know you well you probably are not getting on a real list at an AD. They might take your name down, but thats all they will do.

If you have the white one already, Rolex UK probably won't allow the sale anyway

Wait... you managed to pick up a SS Daytona from an overseas AD without even being on a waitlist?

Yes, in the USA they tried to sell me several different watches and a friend, they had green subs, blue face deep sea and then they pulled out the Daytona. My friend bought a $13k watch and I bought the Daytona.

Why the disbelief? They sold $26k of watches, the salesperson seemed happy, isn't that what they are supposed to do?

Yup, no chance now in UK and probably same in NY, and all big cities. Flippers have killed things for new genuine buyers.

Let's just say that the model will likely be replaced prior to it coming up for a fresh add to a wait list.

Don’t we all want to walk in to an AD to buy the watch and flip it the next day for easy money :) Please share.

Where have you been in the last two years? :)

Standard wait time with UK AD is around 15 years plus, even if you have a good relationship and being a regular customer its getting on for 5-7 years..

Good luck!

You could get lucky at an airport duty-free. Some countries also have very short waitlists, but I'm not going to tell you which ones they are. A fellow collector helped me get one from an AD in his home country with a 2 week wait even though he's not a VIP at that AD.

Sorry, but it is true. They had the same blue/black Sea Dweller that you have but it seem far too bulky and if your not a diver it seemed pointless to own and didn't feel very balanced on the wrist. If memory serves me right it was around the same price point as the white Daytona, so I went with the white Daytona that I hadn't seen before. In hindsight I think I made the right decision.

Best of luck even getting on a list. I have the white and it is truly lovely and while it is nice to know from an investment standpoint I would make money if I sold it, I have no intention of doing that.

What causes me an issue is the lack of the models for people that actually want one. Not just others but me as well because if I could buy a black dial then I would. The chances of me getting one are slim to none and I see the black/white combo as a perfect one.
