Magnetism

Help, please. I own a Vigor DE-415A instantaneous demagnetizer (red top). I bought it new years ago but I’ve forgotten how to use it. Sometimes I press the black button and I get a faint lightening of the red light, no sound. Some other times there is a robust click and the red light turns on when pressing the black botton.

Either way, the pointer on my compass still moves slightly when I place my watch near it. The watch is running some 20 seconds fast a day.

Thank you in advanced for your cooperation.

You tap the button. Its should work for a fraction of a second. Then turn the head 90 degrees and tap the button one more time.

We use the Horotec at the QC station and the Elma demag tool in the workshop. Both are very good.
